South Carolina falls to North Carolina to open the season

Just minutes after Tennessee became a national embarrassment by losing at home to Georgia State, South Carolina said “hold my beer.”

On the road against North Carolina – who, like Georgia State, also finished with just two wins last year – the Gamecocks fell by a final score of 24-20 to open their season.

10-year senior quarterback Jake Bentley threw for 142 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions on 16/30 passing for USC, compared to a smooth 245 yards and two touchdowns for UNC quarterback Sam Howell. Elsewhere, the Tar Heels managed to outrush the Cocks 238 yards to 128, finished with 24 total first downs, and controlled the time of possession by over seven minutes.

For those keeping track at home, Kentucky was picked to finish below both of these teams in the SEC Preseason Polls.

Way to go, guys.

…funnier are the clowns conducting these preseason polls. Cats are legit, Stoops tried to warn them, “we aren’t going back”

We won our season opener, which is great but we have a liong season, so the teams that have lost now on our schedule will find a way to show up when we play them. Lets continue to grind and take all these teams seriously.

Everyone of the KSR picks said SC was a loss. I asked for you guys to share what everyone was smoking to buy into their overabundance of hype but not one of you offered. Now you’re knocking others for picking them ahead of us. Point being now that I’ve realized it’s not some good old KY wild grass I’ve changed my mind. Just remember guys crack kills.

And Mizzou struggling big time at Wyoming with their D giving up lots of points and their great transfer {who I’m sure had a great reason to get transfer approved, I’m sure his excuse was not Clemson would not let me play so I need to move} has not looked good. But yea I agree, I want to wait till we have played {and hopefully beat} them before I make fun of them.

The South Carolina-North Carolina game was in Charlotte and considered a neutral site game. It wasn’t a road game for the Gamecocks.
