SEC Country has completed their final ranking of all of the SEC’s recruiting coaches. Vince Marrow was far and away ranked as the top recruiting coach in the SEC.
1. Vince Marrow, Kentucky tight ends coach (LW: 2)
Recruiter score: 7.73
Marrow’s score (and class) will only grow when signing day rolls around as top remaining target, 4-star wideout Danny Davis, is expected to choose the Wildcats.
An impressive thing to note on this ranking is based on how 24-7 Sports develops their “recruiter score.” The formula looks something like this: (Number of recruits x average rating)(average rating of top remaining primary targets) + (5-star bonus if applicable) = recruiter score. Each coach gets a 0.5 point bonus for every 5-star prospect that he signs. Kentucky does not have any 5-star commits, which really does show how impressive Marrow’s lead is.
Marrow is the key to most of Mark Stoops’ recruiting. It is hard to sit and imagine what would have happened if he did decide to take Jim Harbaugh’s offer to join him at Michigan. Instead, the Cats are looking into picking up their best recruiting class of the Stoops era in order to build on last season’s bowl game appearance.
