JUCO transfer linebacker Ryan Flannigan needed some extra coursework before he could enroll at Kentucky, so he hasn’t been around to work out and bond with his new teammates in Lexington. Defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot has been in constant contact with Flannigan throughout the summer, going over the defense with him via phone and talking him through workouts.
But with the beginning of fall camp just days away, UK now has its prized linebacker on campus, ready to roll. Flannigan arrived in Lexington today.

Stoops believes Flannigan will compete right away for playing time at linebacker despite the late start. He recently said, “”Look at last year, Javess (Blue) came here very late. Javess had a lot of work to do and he had an impact on our team. So we’ll get Ryan caught up. Of course we wish he was here at mid-term, but it didn’t work out. He did the work and he’s good to go.”
It’s almost football time in the Bluegrass.
