REPORT: Kansas is finalizing a deal with Les Miles

One big-name free agent coach is officially off the board.

According to a report by Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger, former LSU coach Les Miles is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach at Kansas.

Per Dellenger, the deal could become official as early as this weekend. Neither Kansas athletic director Jeff Long nor Miles confirmed the news, but if it goes through as expected, it’d be quite the culture change for Kansas football.

In his last 16 seasons as head coach, Miles has won 141 games, four more victories than the entire Kansas football program has won in its last 33 years.

Miles was once seen as a candidate for the vacant coaching position at Louisville, but all signs are pointing to Purdue’s Jeff Brohm taking the job at the end of this season.

Enjoy… whatever there is to do in Kansas, Les.

Les can recruit… I mean no one can replace Nick Saban and Les was so unfortunate to have to follow Nick at LSU… that is really wine of the main things he done wrong

I can’t believe he wants that gig. Lawrence, KS is one of the most depressing places to live. Michigan wanted him and he used their interest to get a raise at LSU. What a fall from grace.

Make millions to ride out your career at a place with no football expectations. Anything positive will get you a statue.

If nothing positive- did I mention millions with minimal expectations?

Too bad we didn’t get him two years ago, or now. It seems like more and more people are realizing our coaching staff has reached its relatively low ceiling.
