According to Ryan Bartow Kentucky’s defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh is leaving to become the defensive coordinator at Maryland but Kentucky has yet to confirm.

If true, this is a hit to the coaching staff as Brumbaugh has done an incredible job at developing talent during his time in Lexington.

It’s not the same job if he’s now the co-defensive coordinator at Maryland

Wonder why we did not make him Co-Def Coord and keep DL coah title here after getting rid of DJ?

Never been overly impressed with him as D-line coach. Here’s to hoping we can snag someone better.

Agree. Not saying he doesn’t do a good job, but I fail to see any “greatness” in our DL. Hopefully we won’t need so many juco players going forward.

Thank God he’s gone! Our D-line was awful this year. The weakest part of the defense

Never impressed with his coaching. Hired to bring Big Z. Below average DLine with 2 NFL stars in Bud and Z. This year Elam played all 92 plays in first game then minimal the rest of year. Seamed to always put players in position to fail rather than position to succeed. I think anyone could do better. IMO this will turn out to be another positive offseason move for Stoops.

Who? This guy was Matt Elam’s coach? Well, as they say in Tombstone…Bye!

I think a house cleaning is in order for the coaches on defense. Kudos to Stoops for making changes. Jacob my asz, that is a bandaid, not the path to a solid program.

They need to change the rules when it comes to this. Kids have already committed and now he is leaving. Coaches should not be hired or fired during bowl season and coaches should have to decide if they are leaving before these kids sign.
