The Ohio State situation just got a whole lot weirder.
College football reporter Brett McMurphy released an article today uncovering more disturbing information on former OSU wide receiver coach Zach Smith, and he came with ALL the receipts.
Seriously, McMurphy released actual Amazon receipts (with product pictures) and ridiculous full text message conversations with Smith’s delusional lawyer.
According to the report, Smith ordered over $2,200 worth of sex toys and apparel to Ohio State’s Woody Hayes Athletic Center, took photos of his genitalia at the White House during the team’s national championship celebration in 2015, and took photos of himself having sex with an OSU staffer in the coaches’ offices.
Smith was fired by OSU back on July 23 following McMurphy’s report of several previously unreported domestic violence allegations, including a 2009 arrest while he was on Urban Meyer’s staff at Florida. Just a day later, Meyer denied knowledge of any domestic incidents under his watch. Nine times he denied it, to be exact.
Just a week later, McMurphy uncovered text messages, photos, emails, police reports, documents, and conducted an interview with Smith’s ex-wife, Courtney, that confirm Meyer was aware of the incidents and didn’t report them to proper authorities.
Ohio State announced a 14-day investigation into the report and they confirmed today it would be completed by Sunday.
McMurphy’s report and all its details released today is sad, hilarious, and mind-blowing all at the same time.
