This just in: according to Rashawn Franklin, senior running back Raymond Sanders has been dismissed from the team for a repeated violation of team rules.

This follows the suspensions of Cody Quinn and Jason Hatcher (one game) and Demarco Robinson (indefinitely) earlier this evening.

Good, set an example. I’m all for kids getting second chances, but if you make the same mistake again, you should be gone.

Cards, take note. This is how you properly discipline a player.

Just like Stoops punished Lowery? I’m confused…

    • Isaac in Louisville
      7:57 pm November 21, 2013 Permalink

Lowery’s court case hasn’t been resolved, but I’d expect him to be kicked off the team if he’s deemed guilty.

It’s standard procedure in this country that you’re innocent until proven guilty. Have you not been here long?

You are confused because you have a coach that considers an indefinite suspension to last a day or so and a thorough internal investigation to consist of typing the phrase “No wrongdoing was found. Case closed”.

Your University has allowed 2 bball players that were caught doing much worse just this season to remain on the team and welcomed a convicted felon to join the football team with open arms.

You are a moron and you cheer for a school that is morally and ethically bankrupt from the top down. That’s along with the fact that you are a dim witted moron, is why you are so confused.

      8:32 pm November 21, 2013 Permalink

Art, who is the convicted felon you speak of? And borrowing a friends car is worse than driving drunk or doing drugs? Sounds like you’re the one confused. Whatever Matty Jones tells you guys I guess… it’s like the blind leading the blind over here. Keep it up though, it’s pure comedy.

The reason you’re confused is because (1) that crack pipe you’ve been using is probably severely infected with every STD your basketball coach is effected with. (2) you’re a uvel grad and really cannot comprehend with all confusion of being kicked off a team…..and not being brought back and to be dismissed from a team by head coach then welcomed back with open arms with a standing ovation….From now on I’m saying I was born Belgium, I hate saying Louisville is my home town. Man I used to be so proud of being where I was born and raised.

What the heck happened though?! I thought Sanders was one of our better players as far as off-the-field concerns went. Bad timing guys, we still need to play these last couple games and we could REALLY use a win going into off-season recruiting.

Let’s not be like that man. I actually thought Sanders has been a good back considering the offense he’s been in the last few years. Everybody knew he was getting the ball and going straight up the middle for 3 years straight and yet he managed to gain yards in spite of that and often with 3 SEC linemen hanging from his back.

I’m sorry to hear that for the guy but hopefully he still can make some tryouts for some NFL teams and go from there. He’s still young.

Y’all need to slow down. Geez, Stoops is not losing control, this is not a symptom of a system wide breakdown. And, gasp dare I say it, it doesn’t mean Joker recruited bad kids or had no control either. The fact is when you have a collection of 85+ 19-23 year old young men, then simple percentages would say a couple kids are going to step over the line. It’s no different than taking a random sample of 85 students out of the general student population. A couple those kids are gonna have a DUI, couple will have speeding tickets, couple been in a fight, and a couple smoke weed. Go back thru the years…it happened with Curci, Claiborne, Curry, Mumme, Morriss and Brooks. If they get busted, then they should be disciplined, but quit acting like they are thugs or are a cancer. Geez, good kids can screw up you know.

I am older than you and went to school with kids that drank, smoked weed, and passed out drunk about every weekend. And I don’t think smoking pot is a terrible thing. But the players know they are subject to testing and if they fail they are not immoral, just stupid. This tells me the testing process is more honest now than it was under Joker, when it was way too easy to beat the test.

    KT,

I don’t know about these other Louisville fans, but scorpiocard simply wants to stir up trouble. He is a “First Class” hypocrite. He wants to give Kentucky fans grief over this incident, but was able to justify Coach Strong and Tom Jurich welcoming Michael Dyer back before the season began. If you’ll remember, Dyer was pulled over in Arkansas in March, 2012, and was found to be in possession of a handgun, which Dyer later testified was used by his Auburn teammates in a robbery in 2011; and, possession of marijuana. So, after being shown the door at Arkansas State, he ends up at Louisville, whose football program has as part of its “Five Core Values”, No Guns, and No Drugs. Strong and Jurich’s justification for admitting Dyer to their football program; “He didn’t break any rules here; and, kids deserve second and third chances”.

Did scorp happen to mention that his football program has a coach as its Recruiting Coordinator that has now been found guilty of breaking NCAA rules by receiving and providing impermissible benefits to recruits while at Miami; and, lying to the NCAA?? But, everything is just fine, because that coach broke rules at another program. See, you have to cheat a little bit to recruit quality players at a program that has won 5 National Championships; but, you don’t have to cheat to get those same type of recruits to come to “The ‘Ville”! LMAO!!!! Sad part is, Louisville fans actually believe this line of thinking.

Louisville fans have not missed an opportunity in 4 years now to tell us what a cheater Cal is. I guess no one will ever really know if Cal broke rules at UMass and Memphis. But, unlike Clint Hurtt, Cal has never been implicated in any wrongdoing at UMass and Memphis, like Hurtt was at Miami. As a matter of fact, when UK and Mitch Barnhart consulted with the NCAA before hiring Cal, they gave him a “clean bill of health” (so to speak). Louisville’s Clint Hurtt now has a “show-cause” for the next two years. Go figure!

BTW scorp, how’s that “Top 10 program” thing working out for you guys, brother?? Playing the 113th toughest schedule (according the NCAA), and you guys aren’t even going to make a BCS Bowl game. You haven’t quite looked like an “elite” program this year. Hell, you guys even struggled with a bad Kentucky team!

I tried to tell you that Sugar Bowl win over the Gators might be “fool’s gold”. But no–you guys had arrived! Well, things only get tougher next year. Enjoy, brother!!

      Very well written. Greap point!

One last point. Jurich stated Hurtt “didn’t cheat” at UL but he DID lie about it to the NCAA while he was at Louisville. There is a big difference between not exposing the truth (remaining silent) and speaking 100% lies. He was lied and got caught lying while he was a member of UL athletics.

I am an alum of UL as are 6 members of my family. I am the only UK fan in the bunch but we are all sick and tired of what Jurich is doing to our university. UL has a smeared image and they keep piling it on. Kudos to Stoops for taking action to protect the image of the university. Louisville is reminding me of sout LA in the early 90’s, the thuggery is so thick you could slice it with a knife.

I fail to see how making jokes about Sanders and Kevin Ware and Jurich makes me a “hypocrite”.

I never even said anything about what should happen to Sanders, or any of the players who were suspended. If Stoops were to decide to let Sanders back on the team it is none of my business and I don’t really care. uk sucks with or without him anyway.

I am laughing at blunatics. The ones who turn everything that happens into something is bad about U of L. You never hear U of L fans talking about uk when one of our players gets in trouble. For us it is about us, not uk.

I come here for the comedy and to make jokes. Period. I don’t know what these players did. If Stoops wants to let them back on the team tomorrow more power to him. Its his program. Of course the blunatics would never say that about a U of L player because they are jealous and obsessed with finding bad things about U of L.

Once again, I come here for the comic entertainment. Its hilarious watching blunatice squirm and point fingers at U of L! LMFAO!

Jeremy, I too am close friends with lifelong UL supporters. These are prominent people in the community as well as important boosters of UL athletics. They told me about RP’s antics a full year before it became public. These are not your typical fans. They care about the integrity of their programs. Although impressed by his ability to generate $$$ for the program they are embarrassed by his ethics, embarrassed by the way he and Strong handled the Clint Hurrt situation, and have little respect for RP. I was told RP tried for 2 yrs to get out of Lville before UK hired JC. Concerned it would look like he was avoiding competing with JC he decided to face the music and stay thru the Sypher debacle. JC has lit a new fire under RP’s a$$. By the way, they admit to liking Cal personally and despising RP. They are still fans of UL and enjoy the competition but they hold their nose. They also tell me there is a sizeable fan base that agrees.

I have been told by several “prominent” people that you don’t know anyone and are a full of crap poser. I’ve also been told that the rest of the Louisville fan base agrees.

I really hate it that those young men screwed up, but there’s nothing better than a lesson to be learned and move one.

    SCORP,
Kentucky fans are obsessed with UofL; but yet, it’s Card fans over here on KSR posting. How many UK do you see posting on a site like Card Chronicle??

    Glass houses,
Wasn’t going for “wit” with that first post. Just some basic facts. Sorry you didn’t catch that, brother!
You’re right–there is plenty of hypocrisy to go around on both sides.
But, I was simply pointing out that many Card fans feel like their athletic program is somehow “morally superior” to Kentucky’s because Tom Jurich is the AD, and Charlie Strong is the football coach. I was pointing out a couple of recent events that demonstrate that nothing could be further from the truth.
I also felt compelled to ask my old friend SCORP about why an “elite” college football program like Louisville just hasn’t looked like one of the “big boys” this season that he told me they would be.
If you’re a Louisville fan coming to a website that focuses on UK sports, do you really have the right to complain about the length of someone’s post?
