Notes From Stoops’ Thursday Press Conference

Boom Williams, Darius West, and Joey Herrick will not play on Saturday
Stoops confirmed that all three players will be out against Georgia. Boom will not get his homecoming as planned due to the elbow injury. West will miss this week with an ankle injury and Joey Herrick with a bone bruise.
The questions at QB have not affected the prep work this week
With Georgia still not announcing (or even knowing) a starting QB, Kentucky has not had to prepare any differently due to Georgia’s system. “They do what they do. Their identity is with their offense and their offensive coordinator. I don’t think things change much, maybe internally with experience and things like that, but it’s nothing that jumps out at you that’s systematically much different.”
The craziness in Athens will not affect the team
With the coaching rumors and closed-door meetings occurring in Athens, Stoops spoke about blocking all that out on the field. “I doubt our players know very much about what is being talked about done there; nor should it be any concern of ours. It’s always about what are we doing and are we putting our guys in the best position we can to be successful.”
Stoops said the team had a good Tuesday and Wednesday
Before their final walk-throughs, the team had a good middle of the week according to Stoops. “We had a good Tuesday and Wednesday,” said Stoops. “No coach wants to stand here at the end of the week and say we had a miserable week. I think you know enough about me now that certainly the emotions are on my sleeve and I do tell the team and I tell you the truth on how I feel. If I felt like it was a cruddy week of preperation or if the enthusisasm or energy wasnt there I’d tell you. I felt like that’s the biggest thing we can control is how we prepare.”
