More information on Marcus Walker’s arrest

This morning, we shared the news that Kentucky backup safety Marcus Walker was arrested on drug trafficking charges. Details of that arrest continue to trickle out.

According to Tanner Hesterberg of WKYT, police were called to a residence on Unity Drive for reports of disorderly conduct. Through the course of their investigation, they obtained a search warrant which led to Walker’s arrest. Photos from the scene, which include a broken window:

According to Walker’s arrest citation, he was in possession of over five pounds of marijuana, four or more grams of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Police also found a large amount of cash and a cash counter during their search. He pleaded not guilty in Fayette District Court this afternoon and is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $1,000 surety bond.

Walker’s attorney, Abe Mashni, had this to say to KSR: “Marcus Walker is presumed innocent. What we saw today was the court acknowledging that fact and setting an appropriate bond. Marcus will be home soon and ready to aggressively fight these charges.”

Combat has a point, four and five stars never get arrested or in any trouble at all. (although this guy was a four star, right?) I hope Stoops learns a lesson here: Only recruit 5 stars so you never have any players who get arrested.

At Bama this might get running the stadium steps UNLESS there was a firearm and then probably get benched a half.

Yup, he’s gone. Oh and hey COMBATMEDIC_98, just like DERBARON said if this were Alabama, Ohio St. etc…………. and all those so-called 5 – Star recruit schools the would have to run the steps and laps and get a slap on the hand!!! I’ll take the discipline and send them packing!!! Just like Auburn with Pike and what the Bengals should do with half their Team! DISCIPLINE goes a long way even with your 4 and 5 star Per- Madonna’s. BTW I think this kid was a 4 star. GO CATS and STOOPS!!!

Agreed. The way Alabama and Ohio State do things certainly doesn’t work. No doubt about that.

Is Marcus Walker on scholarship? Is he trying to make ends meet? Five pounds of herb, plus?

There is school work with an education and a degree to be had.

There are football priorities – which may be why he’s in Lexington….which goes along with getting a degree.

So, what is this young man’s #1 priority?

Abe, there is a presumption of innocence.

In this case, it’s a strong presumption of ignorance and idiocy.

There is a process to follow and then: que sara sara.

Maybe he is majoring in accounting with a minor in agriculture and the cops interrupted an all-night cram session for his finals that includes practical exams.
