Montgomery Gentry will perform before the Auburn game; Marlana VanHoose to sing the national anthem

Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 9.38.42 AM

In news that will make Larry Vaught giddy, UK announced this morning that MONTGOMERY GENTRY will perform the concert before the Auburn game. The country duo, made up of Kentucky natives Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, will take the stage in the Green Lot at 4 p.m., break for the Cat Walk, and then perform an encore. So much for Waka Flocka, I guess?

In news that really makes me happy, Marlana VanHoose will sing the national anthem, which means I’m going to have to bring tissues for Drew. He’ll be a mess.

I always think of “My Town” when I hear Montgomery Gentry’s name, or, more appropriately, the WKYT “My Town” jingle. Here’s the official video, which features tons of footage of my town, Danville:

And some Marlana VanHoose to make your morning better:

Love the National Anthem choice but why no WAKA FLOCKA before the game? That’d be nuts. Now I’ll have to listen to more country and put myself to sleep before the game

Why no Waka Flocka before the game? Because ANYBODY would be better than Waka Flocka NO- TALENTA.

I know Grove St. Party gets everyone hyped but if you listen to the uncensored version all the way through or any of his other stuff, you might change your mind.

“and I can feel your body tremble
as you wonder what this moment holds in store
and as I put my arms around you
I can tell you’ve never been this far before…”

      “I don’t know what I’m saying
as my trembling fingers touch forbidden places…”

“Touch the hand that made you a woman…”

Can we declare that the tailgate/Cat walk concerts are a thing now? Because I think they’re a thing now, and I am SO great with that!

Will you still be SO great with that when they have to raise ticket prices and K-Fund “donations” to help pay for it?

Stop donating, doc. UK and BBN doesn’t need you.

    • totally agree

Without people like me who are forking over K-Fund donations that keep going up and up and up, BBN doesn’t exist. No revenue = No team

All we need is Mitch McConnell to hype the crowd and Kim Davis to sing the National Anthem, and the Kentucky Trifecta will be complete.

Very surprising considering Eddie just buried his son last week. Kudos for him being able to go on.

I’m fine they got a big name, but getting someone who has had a hit in the last 3 years to me would of shown arrival. I’m a little let down by this get. I know there big Kentucky fans, so i’m also fine with getting some one who actually cares about the team.

MG can make it a very rowdy and fun event, that’s for damn sure. If you have never seen them live you are in for a treat. These guys love Kentucky and UK. Don’t like them? Don’t go. There will be many there to take your place and then some. These dudes rock it out.
Eddie, God bless you man, I am so sorry for your loss. Obviously, nobody can possibly know what you are going through. I went through the same recently. Keep it together brother.
    Peace.

Maybe you can meet up with them after the show and tell them how much you hate Stoops, his staff, and Patrick Towles!! 😀
