Mister Cobble agrees to an undrafted free agent contract with the Broncos

If there’s an NFL team that knows a thing or two about players flying under the radar out of Kentucky, it’s the Denver Broncos. According to @PostBroncos, Denver and Mister Cobble have agreed on an undrafted free agent contract. Congratulations to Mister Cobble, one of the all time greatest names in Kentucky football history.

Might sound like a stupid question, but what is guaranteed in an undrafted free agent? Is it just like a normal contract for x amount of years and whatever salary, or is it different?

Undrafted free agents basically the league minimum, which is 375,000-400,000 annually. They arent guarantee contracts, so they can be cut whenever, so it’s basically like $7500 or so a week as long as they are kept.

Not true. Players only get paid the league minimum if the make the 53 man active roster at the end of training camp. Undrafted free agents usually are fighting for a place on the practice squad, which is not part of the 53 man roster. The league minimum for practice squad players is less than 100k per year. The also get a $150 per diem during training camp, if they make it that far. The odds are extremely stacked against seeing an undrafted free agent on Sunday’s. It has happened, but the reality is only a couple out of hundreds will even make the roster.
