De’Niro Laster is leaving the Minnesota football program and KSR has learned Kentucky is an option for his next football home. He will visit Lexington this weekend.
Laster signed with the Gophers out of high school, ranked as the No. 35 linebacker in the 2013 class. He redshirted as a freshman in 2013, then played in nine games last season. He will have to sit out all of 2015 if he goes to another FBS school, but UK would be glad to have him.
The Cleveland native cites wanting to be closer to his hometown as a reason for transferring out Minneapolis. He played high school ball with Dorian Baker at Cleveland Heights.
