The college football world was introduced to Maty Mauk in 2012 when he was arrested for leaving the scene of a scooter accident, as well as three other scooter-related charges. Mauk was spotted running a stop sign with two females on board, before he evaded police on the scooter and then on foot.
Then a freshman at Missouri, Mauk was the third-string quarterback in the Tigers’ first year in the SEC. He would redshirt that season, but that did not stop him from enjoying life’s pleasures as a Division I quarterback.
I mean, America F*ck Yeah, right?
Who knew this was possible with a chinstrap beard?
And with a chain hanging out over a black tee? Quarterbacks get away with everything.
Well, almost everything.
Tomorrow, a more mature Maty Mauk will enter the friendly confines of Commonwealth Stadium, hoping to win over the Missouri fans he has lost this season. Mauk was booed in the Tigers’ win last weekend and some are calling for a closer look at freshman Drew Lock, who took some snaps in the UConn win.
It hasn’t been his year so far, statistically, but there’s no denying Mauk’s 17-4 record as the starting quarterback for Mizzou.
There’s also denying how intolerable he seems as a human being in these photos.
Let’s give him 17-5 tomorrow.
