Maxwell Smith didn’t throw any passes today but Stoops says injury isn’t major

Cats vs. Cards

Mark Stoops met with the media this afternoon and said that quarterback Max Smith didn’t throw any passes today, but “feels good” after getting his shoulder banged up in the Louisville game. Stoops said that neither Smith’s nor Donte Rumph’s injuries were major, and that he doesn’t think they’ll prevent them from playing against Florida. Phew.

With Smith out, Stoops said that Patrick Towles and Reese Phillips got more reps in practice today, but he believes Maxwell will be okay after a bye week of rest. Nick Roush will be by soon with a full recap.

Smith is a fragile flower and Whitlow just plain sucks. Next man up! Lets see what Towles or Phillips can do.

Smith is a good qb but how many more times can this team handle him playing part of game that is winnable and he get hurt and be out. I think it is time to get someone up and going, his shoulder just can not take it consistently.
