Max Smith didn’t throw today but still feels good

Cats vs. Cards

Max Smith rested his injured shoulder again today, but the outlook is still positive for the sophomore quarterback. Smith told reporters on Wednesday that he had tests done on his shoulder and he expects to play against Florida. “I’ll be ready,” he said.

Offensive coordinator Neal Brown said Patrick Towles looked good today with the extra reps in place of Smith.

Nick Roush will have more from practice in just a bit…

Let me see if I understand this. Maxwell Smith, coming off of an ankle injury (mobility impacted?) and now having shoulder/arm issues (passing effectiveness?) still represents our best chance to win. I just do not see the same QB as last year prior to his injuries. Tough to do.

If Smith is healthy, no Towles will not play.

Give Towles a chance in the next game. Need 2 QB’s that can PASS in the AIR RAID offense. Hand off and throw to the other guy and let him run. See how simple that is.
