Max Duffy Earns Walter Camp Preseason All-American Honors

Max Duffy: still the best punter to ever lay leg on a piece of pigskin.

The 2019 Ray Guy Award winner received another honor Thursday morning. The Australian native was named a Walter Camp Preseason All-American a year after the organization selected him to their first-team.

Duffy averaged 48.1 yards per punt in 2019 to help the Wildcats lead the nation in net punting at 44.55 yards per kick. America’s best punter earned TEN All-American honors for his leg and he currently holds the UK record for punting average with 46.3 yards per punt.

His boomstick is just as impressive as his unorthodox style. The former Aussie Football pro can kick on the run, rolling to either his left or his right, keeping defenses on their heels. Last year against Missouri he caught the Tigers sleeping and sprinted for a first down, keeping the UK drive alive and allowing Lynn Bowden to deliver the death blow.
