Even though Kentucky snapped the losing streak to Florida, the streak of Mark Stoops being asked about it at SEC Media Days continues.
“Oh, come on now, ” Stoops said when Bob Holt reminded him Kentucky hasn’t beaten Florida in back-to-back seasons since 1976-77.
“How big would it be to start a winning streak against the Gators?” Holt tried agian.
“I’m just going to avoid that question,” Stoops joked before going on a lengthy aside about playing in the Barbasol ProAm with John Daly, a huge Arkansas fan (Holt covers the Razorbacks for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette).
“But you’re throwing me off with these streaks and all that about Florida. I thought I didn’t have to answer that anymore. But to answer your question, every game’s important. And, you know, each and every game, a team in the East, we had Florida at home, it’s an important game, but so are the other 11.”
