Mark Stoops Threw Out an Impressive First Pitch for the Lexington Legends

Stoops’ first pitch from 2014, from Chet White of UK Athletics.

Last night the Lexington Legends celebrated Mark Stoops Night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.  The first 1,000 fans received a bobblehead of Kentucky’s head football coach.  It’s hard to get a bobblehead right, but this one is spot on thanks to the shades, ball cap and headset.

After signing bobbleheads for hundreds of fans, Stoops put on a Legends’ jersey and took the mound.  Some are too scared to let it rip, but Stoops brought the big, stinky cheese.  UK’s head football coach was clocked at 55 mph as the ball sailed right over the middle of the plate.

If the 2018 football team is as good as that first pitch, fans have a lot to be excited about this fall.

That’s great and all….but he still can’t coach the game of football worth a lick. Just saying.
