Mark Stoops Show Caller Thanks the UK Head Coach, Breaks Down in Tears

Following a loss, The Mark Stoops Show never fails to produce fireworks.  Tonight’s came from an unexpected place.

Instead of anger and vitriol, Stoops received tearful thanks from Wesley in McRoberts, Kentucky.

Even though most fans are still suffering after the loss, positivity reigned supreme throughout the show.  Callers were happy to see the team compete at a high level, Stoops did not shy away from sharing what the team did well and most importantly, it felt as though Stoops, the team and fans have started to put the loss in the rearview mirror.  It’s only been two days, but there’s a refreshing feeling in the air that the BBN is moving forward.

Love this man’s passion. Let’s show up and support this team every saturday in the bluegrass. This man is right, all we asked to do is to compete, and that’s exactly what we are doing.

Yeah, I agree with this dude. People calling for Stoops job need to chill. (I mean, Wesley needs to chill a little bit too). But his message is right. It’s good to compete. If this were BBall, it’d be a different story. But this is KY football. It’s good to be in the hunt, and we dang sure are. Yes, we need to get over the mental hump of beating Florida, but I think we have the right staff in place to do it eventually.

actually it is happening right now. Stoops and staff have built this program and while Saturday hurt the program as a whole is in the best shape of any time in the last 30-40 years. They had to start from basically nothing in the toughest league in the game. I’d say they have done a tremendous job while learning as they go. Would love for them to stay here the next several years, Bobby Bowden like. In the SEC it takes quality 2nd and 3rd stringers which takes time to build and they have just about completed that process. Yes he will make mistakes and Saturday was probably the biggest game of his life and the moment may have got to him but he, and UK, will be better from the experience. All in for Stoops and staff. All in for my C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS

Matt often mentions how hard it was to get to Buckhorn. He should try finding McRoberts some time.
