Mark Stoops on KSR Radio Tomorrow Morning

Tomorrow’s KSR Radio should be very interesting as UK Head Coach Mark Stoops has agreed to join me for an interview. It has been a tumultuous three weeks for the program and I like the fact that Stoops has agreed to come on and address the fans directly. The time on the show is still up in the air due to team meetings but will likely be 10:30 or later. Make sure and tune in.

I do respect him coming on the show. I just hope you ask the same hard questions us fans would ask. I understand you have to maintain a certain relationship with Mitch and the UK athletic department, but sometimes you have to take a hard stand, Matt. The fans deserve that.

We are working to correct it and play better. No one is hitting the panic button. There were some good things in the Georgia game we can build off of and we know we have to play better. We watched the film and will get back to work. Blah Blah Blah – same old song and dance.

Respect for doing the interview. However doubt he will really comment on anything, especially one of the real issues being coordinators. Players can learn, coordinators should already know how to do their job. (one doesn’t, that’s for sure)

But head coaches making 3.5 million/yr shouldn’t already know their job?

Matt, if he doesn’t commit to changing qb’s ask him if he realizes Towles qb rating was 8.4 for the GA game.

Have given Pat the benefit of the doubt all year but after Saturday I think it IS time for a QB change…and an O-line change, an OC change, WR change, special teams change and find a defense that doesn’t count to three-Mississippi after the snap before they cross the line of scrimmage.

Ask if he is meddling in the play-calling…i.e. putting the shackles on Dawson

I think some posters would be happy if the Coach criticized individual players or coaches. That
would sure help team confidence. Coaches can’t throw players under the bus. He already said he is
considering changes at positions, namely qb, and he’s taken blame for some coaching decisions. Some posters wont be satisfied no matter what he says today.
