Mark Stoops Expects Team to take “Big Jump” in 2018

Kentucky’s Pro Day gave exiting seniors one final platform to showcase their talent as they chase NFL dreams.  After Mark Stoops helped give them a final send-off, he got excited about the future of his Kentucky football team.

“Next year you’re going to look at this Pro Day and you’re going to see a lot of (NFL) head coaches here, because we have some really good players returning that are rising seniors,” Stoops told the SEC Network’s Tony Barnhart.

Stoops believes his defense can finally maximize their potential.  If they plug in the right quarterback, the Cats will be dangerous in 2018.  “Overall we have a very good team and I’m looking to make a big jump.”

Yeah I was hoping he’d come out and say he expects to be mediocre this season or even better, he could come out and say we’ll be worse. That would make me feel great as a fan. How dare he have high expectations. What a jerk.

They should make a jump with all the experience and talent coming back. Have an improved secondary and a good QB and we will
    Be more than solid

He’s never been this emphatic about making a positive team proclamation. So this is a new one, Xavier…

If we get solid QB play, hit open guys and don’t turn it over, we should be very good this year. D has to improve by default, could not be much worse than they have been. Plus if the Offense can keep the ball it takes pressure off the D. Should be the best year yet under Stoops.

The 4 million dollar man with his 26-36 record will lead UK to a 4-8 record this year. You have to show the UK Athletics department some love for their contract negotiations!

We might be better but so will several east teams. FL has a coach that seems to have our number, SC developed more than us last year and was a better late season team than us, MO got much better throughout the season, TN has a new coach and should be better and oh yeah that GA team is pretty good. It will be a much more difficult east this year. I think playing .500 within the conference would be a successful year.
