Many people are saying Drake Jackson is the best center in the SEC

One of Kentucky’s homegrown talents is one of the best players at his position in the Southeastern Conference. Don’t take it from me, take it from the experts.

Drake Jackson has already been named preseason first team All-SEC by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele. Some people are hesitant to trust either publication. They’re in line with the SEC’s preeminent offensive line expert.

Cole Cubelic, the former Auburn offensive lineman, radio host and SEC Network analyst released his offensive line rankings ahead of the 2019 season. The No. 1 center in the league according to Mr. Cubelic is Woodford County’s Drake Jackson.

Jackson is not alone. Cubelic has been a longtime fan of Logan Stenberg. This year he fell just outside of Cubelic’s top five, the alternate if the suspension of Alabama’s Deonte Brown is upheld.

Jackson and Stenberg will receive all the preseason attention, while the prognosticators forget about Landon Young. Even though he’s coming off a serious injury, this season Young can become one of the best offensive tackles in the SEC. Terry Wilson’s blind side is in good shape this fall.

Jon Toth was the best center in the SEC for a few seasons, now it’s Drake Jackson. #CenterU

Drake Jackson should’ve started from day 1 after Jon Toth graduated. To be able to redshirt, and learn behind a 4 year starter who was also an engineering major with a 4.0 GPA was as good of a situation as it gets. We win 8-9 games, including the Florida game at home if Drake starts. Glad others are realizing what we’ve known for awhile, and that’s Drake is a Bad Man, and will play a long, long time in the NFL. Reminds me of Jeff Saturday for Indy, but a little bigger and a shit ton meaner… Logan Stenberg is a massive powerful dude who will also play a long time in the league, but it’s amazing how much people are sleeping on Landon Young, former 5* LT with great size, power athleticism… In my opinion, Landon Young could be a 1st round pick in next year’s draft. Has everything NFL teams love and more.. a year off to rehab and hit the weight room hard might have been a blessing in disguise… Increased his power, I think he’s the best LT in the SEC, and come September, he’s gonna prove it. From center to left tackle is as strong as you can get. I think the right side of the line, RG-RT, will be as well… I think Darian Kinnard will win the job at RT, a beast of a dude and 5x as athletic as he looks, at RG I’m a little torn, I think Mason Wolfe could be good, but there’s a few others as well… I’m interested to see how it plays out in camp and we all know that Schlarman rotates every position but Center like it’s basketball, and I love it, keeps them fresh, engaged while gaining experience for when 2nd line rotates into starters…. as long as Stoops, Marrow and Schlarman are here, we will have a top-3/4 Oline in the conference….

This is truth , I’ve seen a vid of him as a senior in hs, straight up handling a few bama recruits In a 1 on 1 drill. He handled them so bad that they started taking cheap shots at him and it didn’t even matter . He’s mentally tuff and physically tuff both. I agree with this assessment 1000000%
