Luke Del Rio: “It’s really easy to play quarterback when you’re back there and there’s no pass rush.”

To add insult to injury following today’s (whatever that was) performance, Florida QB Luke Del Rio was brutally honest about Kentucky’s ability to put pressure, or lack thereof, on him in the pocket all afternoon long.
Check out this harsh, yet ridiculously true transcript.

Here’s Del Rio at the podium giving credit to his offensive line for keeping the Powerpuff Girls Kentucky defense from laying a hand on him all night.

I really want to be mad about this, but he didn’t lie. In the entire game, Del Rio was pressured just twice, both times by Denzil Ware on the first drive of the game. He ended up throwing for 320 yards, the most by a Florida quarterback since Chris Leak in 2004 (322), and four touchdowns on 11-19 passing.
We knew the defensive line would be rough going into the season, but I doubt many expected a defensive performance of this magnitude.

Meanwhile, Neal Brown’s Trojans came within a TD of beating Clemson (24-30) today. You think this UK team can go into Clemson’s stadium and come even close to that final score?
Stoops has better facilities, donors, and on-field talent, and the only thing he’s got more of than Brown is excuses.
Matt brought up the Peter Principle on the call-in show tonight. I think it’s spot-on, we’re seeing exactly what happens when someone is promoted to a level where they’re incapable of performing their job. Mark Stoops is an excellent DC but he’s yet to show us he can be a head coach.
“Mark Stoops is an excellent defensive coordinator”?? What in heaven’s name would make you say that!!?? Don’t tell me about what he USED to be, coaching UNDER someone else. If he knew anything about being a DC don’t you think his teams at UK could play at least a little defense? Between Stoops AND Eliot neither one could stop a good high school team from scoring. This university has spent a lot of money in the last several years on a new field, a beautiful stadium, and major upgrades in the practice facilities. I think we have good talent, good enough to win a few games, but we need to be coached, and we don’t have any coaches. Mark Stoops needs to walk away AND LEAVE THE MONEY THAT HE DOES NOT DESERVE.
Hurry up basketball season…
You’ll be pulling for them to lose, too.
“40-0, baby” – ad infinitum
#RehireNealBrown as HC
There is no doubt in my mind UK could have hired any head coach from a major high school IN ANY STATE across the country and had equal or better success than these a-holes we are stuck with….and at 1/10 the cost. Sad sad day in KY football. Will be a long year. I bet the Stoopy household see a lot of Realtor solicitations this week all angling for a fat new listing come December.
All of u are idiots this is why we suck at football because u are happy with a new hire it doesn’t matter who just get somebody. We will continue to suck until we go after a coach that has already made a good name for himself. # go after Les LSU wants him gone anyway and im sure bbn would be happy with 8-9 win seasons
UK’s next head coach is currently coaching down in Bowling Green.
he would never come to Lex. He is a louisville man thru and thru
Yeah. Just like Lamar Thomas is Miami and Rick Pitino was UK.
I didn’t take it really as a dig at UK as much as it was praise for his OLine, Even i it was a dig, can’t knock the kid for being hoest.
