LSU stays at No. 1, Georgia passes Alabama for 4th in AP Top 25

In the latest AP Top 25 poll, the LSU Tigers remain at number. With only one top-ten team losing, the rankings remained relatively unchanged from last week.

Rank Team PV Rank Points
1 LSU 1 1542
2 Ohio State 2 1478
3 Clemson 3 1442
4 Georgia 5 1343
5 Alabama 4 1263
6 Oregon 6 1243
7 Utah 8 1155
8 Oklahoma 10 1144
9 Penn State 9 1030
10 Florida 11 984
11 Minnesota 7 902
12 Michigan 14 829
13 Baylor 12 787
14 Wisconsin 15 746
15 Notre Dame 16 676
16 Auburn 13 623
17 Cincinnati 17 536
18 Memphis 18 520
19 Iowa 23 493
20 Boise State 19 379
21 SMU 20 328
22 Oklahoma State 25 200
23 Appalachian State NR 154
24 Texas A&M NR 132
25 Virginia Tech NR 61
Others Receiving Votes: Indiana 47, Iowa State 31, Navy 13, Air Force 12, Pittsburgh 9, San Diego State 7, USC 6, Washington 6, Texas 4, Illinois 1

The lone matchup between top 25 teams next weekend will be in Columbus where #2 Ohio State will host #9 Penn State at 12 p.m. on FOX.

We will have another new playoff ranking coming this week, but don’t expect too many changes. It is possible that Georgia’s win over Auburn yesterday could vault them into the #4 spot in that rankings as well, but despite the injury to Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama did have a convincing win over Mississippi State.

The season is coming to an end quickly. We are just a few weeks away from knowing when, where and who Kentucky will be facing in their potential bowl game.

Georgia is already #4 in the college football playoff. You said it could vault them there but they’re already there ?????

This is the AP ranking, not the CFP ranking which comes out Tuesday.

Inexplicably, the Cats get no respect after their big win.

Bama scores 35 in less than a half vs MSU. Lose their starting QB and score 3 the rest of the way. Losing your starting QB matters dumbass.

They actually were last year for a week or so. 2 years from now and they’ll be a big potential talking point. Tons of young talent with more coming in. 2021 is going to be a fun one

I keep hearing about Bama’s weak schedule and I get it, but how is Bama’s schedule weaker than Clemson’s? Who has Clemson played? Any top team could go undefeated with that schedule and yet UNCheat almost beat Clemson and probably should have.

CrystalBall, none of the analysts or sports writers are even talking about it, but they’re all ganging up on Bama, like they are just happy as hell Bama is finally out. If Clemson was in the SEC they would have at least one loss.

Who has Oh St played as well? People say Wisc but they lost to Illinois and the Illini lost to Eastern Michigan and are not that good. LSU has played a tough schedule, so has Auburn and even UGA. So sick of these OSU fans. Love how they report the Chase Young money right before they play Maryland and Rutgers, 2 teams that I could get 11 people from this site and beat.

We have been told it takes 10 years to build a college program to be competitive.

So far, according to the records, UK has beaten 2 bad Mac teams, and the bottom 3 of the SEC. UK is 5th of 7 teams in the east currently.

I think, based on what we have seen, since this is Stoops 7th year,….it is doubtful we will be in any conversation concerning the national championship for a while.

Better than where we were (last or next to last) but a long way to go for any team basically at the top of the bottom.

Like to see it before I die. Who knows?

    Go Cats.

10 wins last year. This year using a WR as QB. Don’t think you can make that call yet.

      KUD…Look at Bama putting up 35 in less than a half vs MSU, lose their starting QB and put up 3 points the rest of the game. Look at Purdue losing their starting QB and in a weak Big 10 they stink. We lost 4 QB’s and those 2 MAC teams will go to a Bowl and 1 beat a Big 10 middle of pack team. Not to mention the entire secondary to draft and injury. Feel bad for you if you can’t see the difference in this program now from 7 years ago. Means you are either blind {not likely} or just plain stupid {very likely}
