LOOK: Kentucky and Virginia Tech scuffle over an hour before kickoff

@haydenhooper01
We’re still over an hour away from kickoff, and tempers are already flaring.
According to KSR intern Hayden Hooper, the Kentucky and Virginia Tech players needed to be separated on the field during pregame warmups.

According to Dick Gabriel of Big Blue Insider, one Virginia Tech player threw a punch at Lynn Bowden during the scuffle.
Can confirm in pre-Belk Bowl dust up, at least one punch thrown at Lynn Bowden. No idea about the verbal exchange that may have led to it. Can’t wait for the midfield meeting for the coin toss. Because football!

Gabriel then wrote that a Virginia Tech player threw a punch at a Kentucky assistant coach, as well.
“Eyewitness tells me a Tech player threw a roundhouse punch at a Ky assistant coach but missed,” Gabriel wrote. “Was pulled away by a Tech assistant.”
Here is some of the post-scuffle aftermath with the players being escorted off the field…

You can also file “putting the team locker rooms 20 feet apart” in the bad idea category…
Having these two teams this close together doesn’t seem smart. I was told that they were already into it big time in pre game. ? pic.twitter.com/5XHxdwAg8U

Coming off the field, Lynn Bowden Jr. greeted fans, but did not look happy as he walked into the tunnel:

Returning to the field, Bowden needed a police escort…

Pre game or not guys throwing punches need to be tossed before the game even starts.
Agreed probably won’t
100% agree.
Unless it was Bowden, we stand no chance without him.
I love it. Too bad I have to work
I think VT is trying to intimidate and throw UK off of their game by trying to force Our guys to let their emotions get in the way of thier focus in this game. Is a cowards tactic that just show use how scared they actually are of use. I say let’s use that against them.
I hope they don’t throw anyone out based on the video since appears Lynn Bowden three the punc.
Better hope they don’t throw anyone out… Lynn threw the punch lol
I thought it was a VT player. If that’s the case I changed my mind. Mrs TT please delete that comment.
I read where on of the VT players threw a round house punch at Bowden and one of our Asst coaches, both missed.
In fact I read it above in this story.
You were right samarai
Wasn’t a good look for Bowden but I’m still huge Bowden fan. EVERYONE makes mistakes, even all of us in the comment section. Go Cats! Come see about it!
From the video above by ESPN is does not look good for UK and Bowden… just play the game and move on!! Bowden you’ve been a class act all year… don’t throw it all away and lose your head and the game for UK in a chippy moment!! GO CATS!!
Bowden should not be playing. Punk move on his part.
VT plan worked to perfection when Bowden threw that punch.
what kind of coach allows his players to target a player before the game ever starts, days before it starts? I have never seen Lynn act this way but who can blame him? I hope he comes out of this game uninjured….
Sad display of sportsmanship.Very bad look for Bowden.
I am enjoying the game and glad he’s playing well. However, have to admit his punk move has soured this a little. For selfish reasons, could’ve put his team in an unwinnable situation. Hard to talk crap about Louisville win our own players pull crap like this.
We all make mistakes. Go Cats! Go Bowden! Come see about it!
