LOOK: Josh Allen and Benny Snell are on Broadway

@UKFootball

Josh Allen and Benny Snell have been so impressive this season they’re now under the bright lights on Broadway. Kentucky is promoting Allen and Snell’s awards campaigns in Times Square in New York City this afternoon:

This caps off a Monday full of accolades for Josh Allen. After finishing with a career-high 11 tackles including two quarterback sacks to cause fumbles vs. Missouri, he was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week (for the fourth time), Walter Football National Player of the Week, and a semifinalist for both the Butkus Award and the Chuck Bednarik Award. He leads the SEC and ranks second nationally in sacks (10.0) and leads the SEC and ranks third nationally in tackles for loss (14.5). He also ranks second nationally in forced fumbles (five). If there’s a player who has had more of an impact on his team’s defense than Allen, show him to me.

Meanwhile, Benny didn’t have his best game vs. Missouri, but is still on pace for a historic season. Through eight games, he has 935 yards and nine touchdowns off 179 carries. He now has 3,359 career rushing yards, moving him past Moe Williams (3,333 from 1993-95) for second place in UK Football history. He needs 477 yards to break Sonny Collins’ all-time rushing record, which is an average of 119.3 yards in the regular season or 95.4 if you count the bowl game.

Go Josh. Go Benny. Go Cats.

    Mrs. Tyler …don’t forget that Josh is on the cusp of a shattering the UK record books, too. He currently sits at 24.5 career sacks and needs only 2 sacks to break the career record (26) and 2.5 sacks to break the single-season record (12).

    If Ed Oliver is in conversation as a DT, then Josh Allen needs to be as well

      Maybe true . Josh Allen lined up as a defensive end 99% of the time though

    Actually per the NCAA official webpage, JA is tied for first in the nation with 5 forced fumbles and leads the nation with 10 solo sacks (Ferguson from LA Tech has 10.5 total sacks but three are assists). He’s ballin’!
