LOOK: How was this not a touchdown by Chris Rodriguez?

The second half is underway here at Jordan-Hare Stadium, but all anyone can talk about is the end of the first. In case you missed it, it looked like Chris Rodriguez had the touchdown to put Kentucky up with 34 seconds left, but the refs did not call it. After a review, officials confirmed he was stopped at the 1-yard line. Here’s the replay:
In what world does this ball not break the plane?!?!? And after a review?! Two plays later, Kentucky throws a pick. Game changer pic.twitter.com/jZd8wXrknD

While it looks like Rodriguez easily crossed the plane, the word in the press box was that his knee was down at the two-yard line…which is not the one-yard line where it was marked. On the broadcast, Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers were told the call was made on forward progress, which makes even less sense.
After a failed quarterback sneak, Terry Wilson made a horrible decision and threw a pick six, which was negated by a targeting penalty by Auburn’s Derick Hall. Phew, but still. It never should have come to that.
I have a feeling the SEC’s gonna get a call from UK this week, at the very least, Rich Brooks.
That’s the worst call I’ve seen. Kentucky had a TD.

It don’t matter. We ain’t very good. Our dbs couldn’t cover me. And terry Wilson is way overrated!!
Stop using the pronoun “we.” I would rather not you be identified with me for the program if you’re going to speak in such negative ways!
Your use of the word we is a lie anyway because you’re not really a fan and you’re probably an opposing team’s fan, too
What is not indisputable video evidence is what I wanna know? Obviously, three officials should not have missed that live on the field. However, the compensating control to detect and correct live plays that are wrong exist with video replay. I’m not sure which is worse: the call on the field or the video replay that did not override the call?
I’m sorry dc. I’ll never do that again. Didn’t mean to offend you
Of course you are forgiven as long as you are truly sorry and really do decide to go in a different direction and not do it again
That was a touchdown no knee down I saw but coming out throwing after that is nuts. Like they didn’t want crod to mishandle the snap and look what happens. We definitely have some work to do were are the better team and should be kickin butt IMO. First game just waiting for it to click. Especially for Defense and terry.
Why did we not run it again instead of throwing that interception. Stupid call!!!
We’ve done great on third downs, but our play at QB stinks. Not to mention a lack of playmakers on offense. And I don’t want to hear anyone say how ‘GREAT” our O-line is.
All of the kool-aid drinkers who predicted we would win the East are crazy. Don’t see us beating UGA, UF, Tennessee, or Bama.
Our offense looks like Ohio State in the 1950s- zero explosive weapons. You might overcome that with great QB play, but there are at least 25 high school players better at QB than Wilson.
How bout going for 2 ???smh wow just watched boss man fat get mossed and shoved. We are lacking heart and seem disinterested. Coach stoops what’s going on? Now down by 9 thinking like a child in this game. Terry might not be our guy just need to go ahead and say it. I hope a comeback is coming bc I have been itching to watch some football this season and this isn’t us right now. Let’s go
Be careful guys. Dc will try to shame you if you say anything he disagrees with
Good try buttercup
One game – we will get better.
This is getting ugly
Hey son,Don’t be talking about your mother here.
Same ‘ole Cat football. Last season was as good as we can do. Horrible play at QB. To be able to compete for championships a team must have high level play at QB. My mistake for thinking Wilson would be that guy. Compared to authentic high level QB’s Wilson is horrible.
Come on man get off Terry’s back!! Did he make a couple of bad decisions? Yes he did, but the guy can play and we don’t want him looking over his shoulder. GO CATS!!!
At the game. Totally out played them in time of possession, total passing and rushing. That no touchdown turned it around. Sucks
Take A Deep, Deep, Breathe Folks.
One Game Does Not Make A Season.
Terry Will Get Better, Eddie Will Adjust.
We Got This!!!!
Defense is ok, but not great by any means. It was the first game so no worries but does anybody think Smoke should play more? I thought we lost our mojo a bit over the touchdown that wasn’t. Don’t trip folks it was one game. GO CATS!!!!
It’s Gatewood and stop it. One game has been played so far.
That reply was to Collie. Sorry.
Terry is not going to get any better. Benny snell won the 12 games everyone always gives him credit for. What’s up with galloways trensfer status?
Early on, it looked like a lot of missed tackles in one on one situations.
I’ve never been a Terry Wilson fan and this game tells why. He’s always been a fumble machine because he doesn’t know how, or where, to carry the football. He looks like he’s running home with a loaf of bread. Give UK that TD that was but wasn’t, take away Wilson’s fumble and this game was much closer, just maybe winnable.
Final thoughts on today, and on to Ole Miss
1. No doubt we got screwed out of a TD, and it changed the momentum of the game. SEC officiating and reviews are still horrible, even though they changed the guy in charge. Every goal line in the conference should have precisely aligned cameras. That wouldn’t guarantee improvement in reviews, but it might help.
2. Our highly touted O-Line got whipped when we needed valuable yardage in the red zone. Auburn’s D-Line is in a rebuilding year. Rodriguez’ TD should never have been in question, should have opened a gaping hole. O-Line was really disappointing when it counted.
3. Our D is mid-level average at best. Can’t win against the top level teams in the SEC with an average D.
4. We lack playmakers on both sides of the ball. Our offense is anemic, and our D struggles to put pressure on the passer. Stoops has done wonders with 3 star recruits – but the difference in 3 stars versus 4 and 5 stars showed today, and likely will show several times before the end of the year. We still have to overcome a significant talent gap.
5. Don’t hold your breath on Gatewood for this season. If you saw Sankey on Finebaum’s show Friday you understand what I’m saying. Sankey said he was tired of getting requests for exceptions to the transfer rule – he the schools made the rule, and the schools should change the rule.
6. On to Ole Miss. Other than Vandy, Ole Miss may be our only sure W remaining on the schedule.
