I know we had a good year last year and Stoops has done a good job recruiting and building our depth… But man how many times do we have to lose in this fashion for Stoops to learn from his mistakes in late game situations… Him and his conservative style has cost us more times than I can count… it has happened in 3 games vs Florida since he has been here!!!! I know he is popular with our fans and I like him but man this is frustrating and heartbreaking to keep losing games we should win…. This loss is the result of his conservative play calling and just simply poor offensive and defensive play calling influenced ny our head coach

Mr. Stoops, why is it 1st and 15 is your man running the ball up the middle? Stoops why did your OC stop going to Wagner when he had a 5 inch height advantage over his defender? Stoops why in a 4th and 1 would you take 4 men off the line, spread the field, and run the ball up the middle?

Couldn’t have said it better. Also when are they going to see smoke is the better running back? With that said I think it will still be good year but they got out coached tonight.

Truth_Hurts I’m tired of our fanbase dealing with stupid $hit like this. The refs completely stopped calling holds on Florida’s o line. Didnt matter how bad. They face masked on several plays, never got called for it. They controlled 3/4 quarters and went to the go to Eddie Gran blow it play calling. Run a trick play like they did. Run Bowden in a sweep on a 4th and 1. Pitch it back to Smoke and have him rip one to Riggs down the field. I dont want to see Stoops fired but I’m done with Gran. Long long over em

My single, consistent criticism of Stoops is that he is notorious for letting off fhe gas when we’re leading/controlling a game. At a certain point, rather than playing to win, he switches to some preservation strategy. It tends to bite us every time.

And no, there is no excuse for a D1 kcker to miss a 30-35 yard field goal. That being said, the missed field goal is a moot point when considering more pertinent mistakes.

Agree should have won this game by 3 touchdowns. Let off the gas. I knew it was over when I saw all the players celebrating at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Well how many times do we have second and 10 and we run the ball after saying that we couldn’t be in long third down situations

You only think that because you’re under educated. Is that you Slater?

    11:19 pm September 14, 2019 Permalink

Also, if you’re setting up for a right footed kicker, why not stretch it out to the left hash instead of the right. Seems like common sense.

    Gran is awful.

Let’s run 3rd and 1 from the pistol again after two times of the qb sneak working.

And the fumble in the first quarter? Came from the pistol with a new QB in his first week against a SEC defense on 3rd and 1. Gran is terrible. Defend him KSR and he will be terrible next week also. But maybe he will keep Stoops here and that’s what matters anyways

    • UKfanman01
      11:46 pm September 14, 2019 Permalink

Dont worry, the writers here at KSR will pay ole Stoops and Gran on the back. They know if they dont they wont be allowed in practices anymore. I’ve never been a bandwagon fan. Ive watched A LOT OF VERY BAD football in my day as a UK fan, but (yes I’m really gonna say this) I’d rather watch a Joker Phillip’s team suck from kickoff to midfield handshake at the end of a game and to see this $*** happen over and over. It’s like watching the twilight zone

Bet we let MSU run all over us…. I think this game will define the rest of our season.

Not Sir beauleonard!!! This will be a tough lesson for everyone involved but this will be the turn around of the decade. Let’s get all in and keep watching this VERY YOUNG Team develop into a special program. It’s all here and we’ve got some of the best recruits in our history on the way. It never was going to be easy to build a Playoff Team, But it’s happening right before our eyes. I’d rather they learn and figure it all out before we find ourselves in a big game for a East championship.

I know it’s hard right now and I’m hurting and mad and everything else, but we got to stick with this team and this program. It’s going to pay off for us, I know it is.

These coaches prepare 10 times as much as the players. They know what they are doing. We as fans need to appreciate the tremendous strides OUR program has made since stoops and company have been here. We weren’t blown out, mistakes were made. Deal with it that’s football, hell that’s life. I for one thank God that I am able to get excited about watching a UK football game. Go cats, keep your heads up the commonwealth is behind you.

Team can still be great. They have a super easy schedule this year. But this game was a huge drop on all fronts.

For sure! Just so disappointed that we should’ve started our own streak over UF! We should be 5-0 over the last 5 games against them!

Still a 2-1 team w back-up QB. The season ain’t over!!! Still got a few W’s in the future and some growing pains to work out. Kick Stoops in sack, make him man up, and hand a team 20, 30, whatever point A$$ KICKING like Alabama, Georgia, and some other teams do!!!! Knuckle up and beat the hell outta somebody!!!!! Just one time!!!! PLEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not in the mood to hear these poor ass excuses tonight. He’s just not a good late game coach. Just own up to the shit and figure out a work around. Let someone else make the calls behind the scenes during games that are tight late in the game.

Take the Wildcat out of the playbook and kick it as far as you can.

  17. Toofarfromky
    10:26 am September 15, 2019 Permalink

I will absolutely agree with that one. The only critique i have of the program. The wildcat is a niche offense which almost certainly takes away any passing ability. You get stuffed at the line or a minimal gain for game after game for the chance once a year to burn someone deep out of this formation. There are better formations for misdirection and confusion… side saddle.

Talent has taken the step up, development is there, now it’s time for the coaches to step up and take it to the next level.

Play to hold on to a lead and lose it, or keep doing what got you there.

The team didn’t lose this game, the coaches walked away from the game plan. If the game plan was working, why the HELL would anyone switch gears? IF IT AIN’T BROKE DON’T FIX IT!

That sht at the end of the first half killed UK. Still increased the lead by going BACK TO the game plan. Then screwed the pooch 2 MORE TIMES!

UK lost the game 2 times and still had a chance to win the game, even with 3 turnovers.

LOVE this staff, but they HAVE TO LEARN FROM THIS AND STEP.UP!

Spurrier got to where he did by never taking his foot off the gas, and making the other team stop his gameplan. Didn’t do it by stopping it himself.

No lead is too big in the SEC.

Cats didn’t lose on the FG miss. They lost as a team. They left 13-16 points on the field and HANDED Florida a TD. Game shouldnt have been close. They should have demoralized the Gators and instead let it come down to a FG attempt, which wasnt even the final margin.

    Gators scored a TD, remember?
