Going to tomorrow’s game vs. Arkansas? Here’s everything you need to know.
It’s Jared Lorenzen Day
Emotions will be running high as the program remembers Jared Lorenzen, the iconic quarterback who passed away in July. Jared’s family will be in attendance, along with many of his former teammates and friends. Commemorative rally towels will be distributed to fans upon entry. I have a feeling a tear or two will be shed, but hopefully the Cats can pull off “one hell of a game” for No. 22.
Saturday is also the 104th anniversary of UK’s first Homecoming game. Our own Maggie Davis is up for Homecoming Queen, so if you’re in attendance or even just watching at home, cheer like crazy for her to get the W at halftime. She’s awesome.
Honorary Captain: Moe Williams
The former running back racked up 3,333 rushing yards in three seasons as a Wildcat, along with 38 receptions for 313 yards and 27 total touchdowns. In 1995, he rushed for a school-record 1,600 yards with seven 100-yard rushing games. He was named honorable mention All-America, a consensus All-SEC selection and a finalist for the Doak Walker Award.
Swing for your Seats
At nearby Kentucky Proud Park, the baseball team is holding a really cool promotion. From 3 to 5 p.m., fans can go to bat for the chance to win 2020 season tickets. For more details, click here.
KSR Pregame Show: 3:30 p.m.
The gang will be at KSBar and Grille for the pregame show, so come on out and join the fun. We’ve got plenty of specials on tap:
Take the Lextran shuttle to the game
The smartest play of the season: park at KSBar (but not in the Dairy Queen lot!), pregame, and let LexTran drive you to the game and back. The shuttle begins three hours before kickoff and ends one hour postgame. It costs $1 per person, each way (please have exact change). For more information, click here.
Cat Walk: 5:15 p.m.
At 5 p.m., make your way to Gate 1 to watch the team arrive and check out the new push cart, which will carry a special guest from the UK Children’s Hospital alongside Mark Stoops each week. This week’s “Lift Them Up” Kid of the Game is Kase Chaney from McKinney, Kentucky.
