Landon Young announces he will enter the 2021 NFL Draft

Darian Kinnard and Luke Fortner may be returning to Kentucky for another season, but Landon Young is ready to chase his dreams. The senior offensive tackle just announced on social media he is leaving the program after five seasons to pursue his professional career.

“I want to thank UK Football, Coach Stoops, staff and BBN for everything this program has done for me over the last five years,” Young tweeted. “Most of all I want to thank God for the many countless blessings. I hope to continue representing this state and program at the next level!”

Young appeared in 48 career games, with 32 starts, including 24 in a row at left tackle. He was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice this season (Oct. 19 and Nov. 16) and earned First Team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches, Second Team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press, and Third Team All-SEC honors from Pro Football Focus. He was also a finalist for the Pop Warner College Football Award and served as one of ten team captains this year.

Go get ’em, Landon.

Linemen don’t have the longest careers in the League. Go get it while you can, young man. So proud of what he and the Kentucky boys did while wearing the blue and white.
