Was Kylin Hill’s final game as a Mississippi State Bulldog the 24-2 loss to Kentucky? Maybe so.
The First Team All-SEC running back was suspended for last week’s game vs. Texas A&M, reportedly because of an outburst following the Bulldogs’ loss to Kentucky, sources tell Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger. Yesterday, Mike Leach said Hill was still “unavailable,” and now, AL.com’s Matt Zenitz is reporting Hill is expected to opt out of the remainder of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft. Losses to Kentucky do have a way of breaking your spirit.
Last year, Hill ran for 1,350 yards and 10 touchdowns on 242 carries. With Leach now at the helm, Hill succeeded mostly in the passing game this season, totaling 237 receiving yards and a touchdown off 23 catches vs. only 58 yards on 15 carries on the ground.
Since the AL.com report broke, Hill tweeted then deleted this, so who knows, really.
