KSR Fan of the Day Wants UK/Florida Picks

Who does the national media like in tomorrow’s game between Kentucky and Florida? Here’s a roundup of picks from across the interwebs.

ESPN

Only Kyle Bonagura and Sam Khan have the Cats pulling off the upset tomorrow night.

Kyle Bonagura: How will Kentucky celebrate its first back-to-back wins over UF since 1976-77? Kentucky 28-27

Sam Khan Jr.: The Cats rally around Sawyer Smith to pull off the upset. Kentucky 24-21

The remaining 11 members of the panel picked Florida:

David Bearman: Florida 31-28
David M. Hale: Florida 31-10
Chris Low: Florida 28-17

Bill Connelly: Florida 35-31
Ryan McGee: Florida 24-14
Adam Rittenberg: Florida 26-10

The Sporting News‘ Bill Bender

Kentucky lost Terry Wilson for the season, which makes Gunnar Hoak’s transfer from the program that much more painful. Florida will be looking for revenge after last year’s loss to the Wildcats, and Feleipe Franks continues to trend in the right direction.

Florida wins 31-21 and COVERS the spread.

(Big eye roll to this one)

Sports Illustrated

Ross Dellenger picks Florida: The revenge game for the Gators. Florida had won 31 consecutive games over Kentucky, a streak that dates back to 1987 before a 27–16 home loss last year. Expect a tight battle, and the Wildcats might very well pull this one off, but we’re siding with the Gators in a coin-flip type match in Lexington.?

The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman

Florida will get revenge for last year, when the Wildcats’ 27-16 win in Gainesville ended a 31-year losing streak in the series. Florida 20, Kentucky 13

The Athletic’s Stewart Mandel

Tough break for Kentucky, losing experienced QB Terry Wilson. The Wildcats now hand the reins to former Troy starter Sawyer Smith. They’ve got good pieces around him, most notably WR Lynn Bowden Jr., and by no means is this team without hope. But Smith’s first start against Florida’s defense could be rough. Florida 26, Kentucky 20

I cannot believe they are really all saying that Florida is gonna get REVENGE?!?! How about 31 years of revenge?! We deserve a decent streak in our favor! Go Big Blue! Dominate the Gators tomorrow night!

Ok, enough with the revenge angle. No one looks for revenge after winning 27 games in a row and losing one game. Seriously though, who says ” how dare you beat us once in 28 years!” ?????

I do wish that sawyer had started against EMU to have a start under his belt. I fear Gran will either dumb down the offense or just run the wildcat too much.

Sawyer has 7 or 8 starts against teams like EMU and he knows enough of this type of offense that Gran doesn’t have to change it significantly.
