Kentucky’s record of biggest upset over ACC team broken

I have devastating news for the Big Blue Nation on this Sunday night. Break out the tissues, hold the hands of your loved ones, and give a call to momma, if you have a second.

Kentucky’s record for the biggest upset victory over an ACC team has been topped.

As a 29-point underdog, Old Dominion defeated No. 13 Virginia Tech yesterday, breaking Kentucky’s record from 2016 when they knocked off No. 11 Louisville as 28-point underdogs.

It’s a heartbreaking day for us here at KSR, as we have celebrated Stephen Johnson’s “I love this s**t” moment, Lamar Jackson’s game-losing fumble, and Austin MacGinnis’ game-winning kick religiously since it happened. That fumble and kick combo still plays in my dreams on repeat. It was an afternoon that will bond the BBN forever.

As a way to mourn, relive that glorious game with me by watching the highlights below:

Did you see him do the Heisman pose? Did you see him fumble?

I did.

RIP to the greatest record of all records.

2016-18. Gone but never forgotten.

I’ll take the consolation prize knowing that UL hasn’t been remotely close to good, ever since that game! How sweet it is.

I’m fine with this. May we never be 28 point dogs ever again!

I can’t wait until we beat their asses soundly on their own field this year. Hopefully so bad they fire Petrino the next day.

Ha ha, their fans were wanting to fire Petrino at halftime against Virginia.
