Kentucky’s late rally not enough; Cats lose to Georgia Tech 33-18

Well, at least we went to a bowl, right? That’s about the only silver lining I can find for Kentucky’s 33-18 loss to Georgia Tech this afternoon. Kentucky shot itself in the foot from the start when Stephen Johnson fumbled the ball two minutes into the game, leading to an easy touchdown for the Yellow Jackets. From there, Georgia Tech’s weird offense, Kentucky’s poor play and questionable officiating took over, and despite a late rally, the Cats couldn’t get back in it. They’ll finish the season 7-6.

Regardless, we’ll have plenty of coverage this afternoon, including a live stream of Stoops’ press conference. Stay tuned…

We didn’t play very good today. Glad we were in a big bowl and that the fans showed up. I am looking forward to next season though.

After the disastrous start, this was a successful season. Proud of our guys, enjoyed the ride.
We’ll win the bowl game next year.

What did stoops do? How bout u try to be a college coach, wait you aren’t even a high school coach, probably not middle school either. Stoops wanted it real, real bad, and that’s why I like him. The corner blitz was a risk, but what if they ran the ball, and we didn’t blitz, then we got beat, and game over. What would you be saying now? Just shut up.

Awwww, how cute. Probably took a good 15 minutes ( 2:33pm – 2:48pm) to come up with that witty handle!!

Did you see UL fans say they could beat Alabama? Did you see them get rolled by LSU?

I thought they had some Super Man Heisman winner? Talk about shitting the bed!

      Petri-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

So proud of these kids; one senior starter and they turned this season around and won 7 games; AND made a New Year’s Eve bowl.
A very bright future for us under this coaching staff and a very nice collection of young talent.

UK beat UL so this game was just a bonus. Would’ve liked to seen them win, but considering how this season started, the boys done well and we should be proud of them.

Proud of these guys, especially the fact that they never stopped fighting. Still, the slow start makes me wonder if they would have been better off playing somewhere like Nashville to help them maintain focus. Seemed like the allure of the Florida beaches and other distractions might have been too strong for a young team in their first bowl game.

Oh yeah – PLEASE replace Elliot with a real DC next year.
