The best of the best high school football players in America will showcase their talents on national television at Thursday night’s Under Armour All-American Game. Whenever the best football players are all in one place, you’ll find at least one Wildcat.
This year you will see future Kentucky offensive lineman R.J. Adams. The No. 12 offensive guard in America according to Rivals committed to UK on Early Signing Day Eve. Hailing from the DMV (DC, Virginia, Maryland) and recruited by Brad White, during this week’s practice Adams explained to Rivals reporter Adam Friedman why he chose Kentucky.
“Just the coaching staff, coach Stoops, coach White, coach Schlarman made me feel like family,” Adams said. “And I’m just excited to be a part of the program. I want to be in the atmosphere of the SEC. And I feel like our class, not many people know about it, but some do. I feel like we’re going to shock some people next year.”
Tonight Adams will be coached by either Ed Reed or Deion Sanders. I wish I could give you more specific roster information, but the game’s website isn’t the most up-to-date. One thing that has been changed — Sam Anaele was named to the roster months ago. Now you can no longer find the future Wildcat on the roster. Unlike Adams, Anaele is expected to enroll at UK this spring.
Kickoff for the Under Armour All-American Game at Camping World Stadium is set for 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
