Two weeks ago, Kentucky was as high as No. 28 in USA Today’s weekly ranking of the 130 teams in college football. After back-to-back losses, the Cats are still in the top 50 — but just barely.

Kentucky fell 15 spots to No. 50 in this week’s re-rank, which is still ahead of future opponents South Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Louisville (UT Martin is FCS):

  • Toledo: 59 (+3)
  • Eastern Michigan: 70 (-14)
  • Florida: 13 (+7)
  • Mississippi State: 41 (+7)
  • South Carolina: 81 (-14)
  • Arkansas: 110 (-9)
  • Georgia: 3 (+2)
  • Missouri: 35 (+23)
  • Tennessee: 104 (-8)
  • Vanderbilt: 96 (-7)
  • UT Martin: —
  • Louisville: 92 (+2)

In CBS Sports’ weekly re-rank, Kentucky fell 13 spots to No. 53, which is also still way ahead of the aforementioned teams. Things may look grim right now, but 8-4 or 7-5 are definitely still on the table.

Just beat Tennessee and I’ll be happy.

Looks like 9-3 is extremely likely. I say go back to tenn with your 7-5 & 8-4.

Forget records. Just win the next game. Figure out how to do that, and a victory will cure a lot of what is wrong with the program.

There is a lot wrong with this team, the implosion in Starkville revealed how far off the grid we are.
