Kentucky Receives Votes in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The first preseason poll of the 2018 college football season is out, and the Kentucky Wildcats make an appearance.

Mark Stoops’ team did not make the Top 25, but Kentucky did receive eight votes to tie with Iowa and Iowa State at No. 40 overall.  To compare, Neal Brown’s Troy team picked up 19 votes while the Louisville Cardinals had just three.  South Carolina just missed the cut at No. 26 overall.

    How long has it been since UK cracked the top 25 in football? Serious question.

      2007. UK won the first 5 games of the season and reached #8. Lost to South Carolina and fell to #17. Then beat #1 LSU at time to climb back to #8, for a second time. UK then sucked ass and finished the season unranked.

    2007 Woodson team cracked the top 10 if I recall correctly

    UK was ranked #17 when we beat LSU #1 team at Commonwealth

    After the LSU win they went to 8 or 9 then got handled at home by Miss State the next week.

    People keep talking about how tough our schedule is, but I can’t remember the last time we only had 2 top 25 teams on our schedule

      I agree Jimmy. While the Fla and Ga games are sure fire losses, the rest are winnable. Hoping to get to 8 wins this year.
