Kentucky ranked No. 17 in the latest AP Poll

The AP voters were big fans of the Kentucky Wildcats this week.

In the latest week-five AP Poll, Kentucky came in at No. 17 in the nation, ahead of Texas, Oregon, BYU, Michigan State, Duke, Mississippi State, Cal, and Texas Tech to round out the top-25. It’s the first time UK has been ranked in the AP Poll since 2007.

The Cats sit behind Miami (No. 16), Wisconsin (No. 15), Michigan (No. 14), UCF (No. 13), and West Virginia (No. 12), among others.

With the jump in ratings, Kentucky is considered the second-best team in the SEC East, behind only Georgia (No. 2), and the fifth-best team in the entire SEC. Only Alabama (No. 1), Georgia, LSU (No. 5), and Auburn (No. 10) are ahead of the Cats.

The Coaches Poll also had Kentucky at No. 17 in the nation.

I’m glad I’ve stuck around being a Kentucky fan since 1998 cause it’s times like these where you feel like you are on top of the world. Good for this team. Sky is the limit for them. I’ve always been proud to be a wildcat. Now I’m ecstatic. GO CATS!

I hope it says that! They will come out and destroy SCar. Especially at 730 with a top 20 ranking UKs environment will be even crazier. Ill go 1 step further and say this. Minus the QB we are built exactly like UGA and UGA tool SCar out with their physical play. After watching us against State I honestly believe our Oline is one of the best in the SEC. lets take it one game at a time and get Terry W developed more bc we will need him to be a passer in some games to win..

LOVE IT!!!! Best team I’ve seen in my lifetime. Easily the best defense I’ve seen in my life. Could you imagine if Paschal was healthy last night and rushing on the other side of Allen?! Oh my.

Also Denzil Ware who transferred. And of course on offense the starting LT. This team lost 3 legit very good players and still looks great.

Nah, The team loves the disrespect, they feed on this.
South Carolina does not need to say anything to this team, the media takes care of that.
Plus, they will be here. The home field with the bloodthirsty BBN, and one of the most physical teams in UK history, I think more proof of UK as a very good team, will be validated.
Go ahead media, feed the Big Blue Wrecking Crew, they have the ability to make you look like fools, and all others that refuse to believe.
    Go Cats.

Good. Let them say we’re overrated. Let the pick our opponent to beat us every time. This team likes the fuel

John Clay of LHL ranked us 21 in the AP poll. Not that it was right or wrong. But, a lot of sports writers across the country respects our play and effort on the field.

Let them be underdogs. It hasn’t mattered yet. Just adds fuel to the fire! And please let someone from S Carolina say Benny won’t run on them. GO CATS!!

About 10 years. Back when Woodson and Co. beat LSU, I think.

We had a good team in 2007, but the higher ranked teams kept losing, so we kept moving up. We’re taking care of our own business now, and I like it!
