Kentucky Ranked No. 15 in Week 12 CFB Playoff Rankings

Kentucky has moved up in the College Football Playoff Rankings.  A week after the Cats were ranked seventeenth, the committee bumped up Kentucky to No. 15.

Kentucky’s spot is significant for two reasons.  First, UK has been in the CFB Playoff Top 25 for the entire season.  That’s an incredible accomplishment.  More importantly, they’re still within reach of a New Year’s Six game.

The top 12 teams in the rankings will play on the big New Year’s Six stage.  If Kentucky wins and a couple of teams ahead of them lose — potentially West Virginia and Florida — there’s still a chance they can sneak into the New Year’s Six.  It’s a long shot, but there’s a chance.

UK has got to score a lot of points on UL if they want any chance at a New Year’s Six Bowl. The committee knows UK is limited on offense. If they come out and play UL to the wire. Outback Bowl/Citrus Bowl at best. Either way still the best bowls I’ve seen in my lifetime. Go Cats!!

That’s our only hope. Maybe Maryland will pull one out of their butt and beat Penn State

If they play like they did against OSU they have a real shot.

So the cats won at Florida and finished ahead of Florida in the SEC. They both have the same record… How are they ranked ahead of us???

If we played Florida right now, we’d lose by at least 2 touchdowns.

Their best win was LSU and worst loss was a 7-4 Mizzou team.
Our best win was UF and worst loss was at a 5-6 UT team.

That UT loss may have cost us a New Years 6 game and that is why many UK fans were upset. Not at the season overall as it is the best I have seen in my lifetime but at the missed opportunity to of all team UT.

For us to reach New Years 6… Cheer for A&M to beat LSU, Florida State to be Florida, Michigan to beat OSU in a blowout, Georgia in OT vs Bama ESPN Classic style so UGA and Bama get in the 4, Oklahoma over West Virginia, Washington State to beat Washington, South Florida over UCF and Kansas over Texas which is probably the longest shot of them all. All should help our position. Go Cats! Run it up on the Tards!!

Penn State and WVU are likely to lose one. 2 more teams ahead of them are guaranteed to lose one more game. Florida wont lose to FSU. Kentucky has to crush UL to move up three spots.

3 more, not 2 more are guaranteed to lose one more game.
