Kentucky QBs have been good at passing on third down

Kentucky has not just one, but two quarterbacks on the short list of the best third down passers in college football.

Pro Football Focus, the leader in performance grading for all positions in both the NFL and college football games each week, shared its highest-graded quarterbacks on third and fourth down attempts, and both Terry Wilson and Sawyer Smith are among the best.

Smith’s 89.6 grade is fifth best in the NCAA; Wilson is tenth with an 87.0:

As a team, Kentucky is ranked No. 24 in the nation in third down conversion percentage. The Cats have successfully converted half of their 40 third down scenarios so far this year.

I know one of the 20 unsuccessful attempts — a 3rd-and-2 against Florida — we’d like to try again.

If Robinson hadn’t have got hurt before the season, we would’ve been hard to beat. I doubt Coach Stoops ever under recruits the secondary again. Honestly, every other position group is great and the secondary will come along, they just don’t have the experience yet. Experience and reps are just as important as talent and we’ll be better and better every game.

Next year is going to be amazing and I really do think we’ll win the East!! Kentucky is definitely on the rise and we still have a great chance to win ten games this year. I for one think we will.

Losing Robinson definitely hurts from a depth perspective. Was counting on him to be an impact player as well.

How’s 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 looking with A.J. Rose as the carrier?

Come on man, let’s see those ratios.
