Week one of the SEC schedule was released to the public at 3 p.m. ET, and it didn’t take long for the oddsmakers out in Las Vegas to get to work.

In the first run of opening lines released this evening, the Action Network listed Kentucky as 11-point underdogs when they head to Auburn on September 26.

Here is the complete week-one slate:

  • Texas A&M -37 Vanderbilt
  • LSU -26 Miss. State
  • Georgia -24 at Arkansas
  • Alabama -19½ at Missouri
  • Auburn -11 Kentucky
  • Florida -8 at Ole Miss
  • South Carolina Pk Tennessee

In a follow-up tweet, college football insider Brett McMurphy also released a few more early projections, including two future Kentucky games.

The first? A pick-em in week two at home against Ole Miss, followed by an end-of-year projected one-score win over South Carolina.

Here are the early projections:

  • A&M 2½ UF
  • A&M 10 at UT
  • UF 10 at UT
  • UK 2½ USC
  • Ole Miss Pk UK
  • Ole Miss 16½ MSU

What do you guys think? You taking any (or all) of Kentucky’s picks?

I think 9.5 is probably the correct line against Auburn, so not far off. We should be at least 3.5 point favorite against Ole Miss.

Let’s remember that the line actually has no effect on who wins the game. It’s just what bookmakers think will make them the most money, based on a bunch of factors. Probably goosed the line a little to get closer to 50% of the action on Kentucky.
