Kentucky opens as an 18 1/2-point favorite over Louisville

Las Vegas has spoken, and they’re VERY confident in the Kentucky Wildcats against Louisville next weekend.

The opening line has been released, and the Cats have opened as 18 1/2-point favorites over the Cardinals at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Saturday.

Caesars Palace has the smallest opening line at 17 points in UK’s favor. Bovada lists Kentucky as a 17.5-point favorite, as does BetNow and 5Dimes. Opening has the biggest line of the day with the Wildcats as 21-point favorites.

What does the Big Blue Nation think? Fair?

Cats being favored by 18.5 points is almost a no-win situation. I find it hard to believe we can outscore anyone by that many points, based on the way our offense has executed the past 5+ games. As long as we win by 1, I’m happy with it. Go, Cats!

Did Vegas hear that Eddie Gran is getting fired or are they crazy? Maybe they figure our D will score 14-21 points. Gran could not beat a pee wee team by 18. Here is the proof…..
Tenn gives up 47 to UF, 38 to UGA, 58 to Bama, 50 to Mizzou, 24 to Auburn, 27 to USC and even 14 to Charlotte…Gran gets 7.
Mizzou gives up 37 to Purdue, 43 to UGA, 37 to USC, 33 to Memphis, 38 to UF, 33 to Vandy and Gran gets 9.
Vandy gives up 27 to Tenn State, 37 to USC, 41 to UGA, 37 to UF, 31 to Ark, 33 to Mizzou and Gran gets 14.
Texas A&M gives up 17 to Ark, 10 to UL Monroe, 7 to Northwestern State, 28 to MSU and Auburn, 20 to UAB and Gran gets 7 with an OT.

I’m frustrated with the offense too, but are we sure it’s all Gran’s fault?

Are serious? Lol yes. Terry still can’t read a defense. Steps back, stares one way, either throws it or takes a terrible sack, doesn’t know how to step up in a pocket…yes….not terry’s fault…eddies fault…it’s almost like they’ve never watched film together and we are in the last week of the season. Zero progression, just regression.

Defenses figured out weeks ago to just load the box and force TW to make decisions in the RPO … which he is not good at.

I’d say you’re close. Think we will finally get some points in this last game. Gran has to know that he’s underperforming and he’ll have to do enough to keep his job. He will score 40 points on the worst team we’ve played in three years and get a contract extension. I think he has a lot of talent and is a very smart guy, I just hope he can prove it or it’s time to try move on.

Wow….. Have the Vegas odds makers not seen our offense this season? I still like my Cats, not an Eddie Gran fan, buuuut. Hope this happens, just doubt it will

The one thing that I have noticed about the Stoops years is the tendency to start strong and fade down the stretch. Every year has gotten better and I am happy and thankful for that. The next step is to continue the good play throughout the season.

That’s a lot of points. I expect UL to be more motivated than UK. UK has some laurels to rest on, and a bowl game to look forward to. I won’t be surprised to see UL lead early and the Cats have to put together a solid second half to win. I’ll go UK 27 UL 17

Louisville gave up 77 to Clemson, 60 plus to an unranked Georgia Tech, over 50 to four other teams, ranked lower than us, and 30 plus to every other team except Indiana State, and Western Kentucky,(who they beat by 3, and WKU just won their second game of the season).
This is the game Stoops should use to evaluate the direction of our offense. If we are unable to put over 40 points on Louisville, with this offense, Stoops really needs to consider a new direction for his team and our offensive coordinator, if he really wishes to win the division one day.
This is the worst defensive team Louisville has put on the field since John L Smith’s first year, when UK put 60+ plus on them.
Don’t be fooled, Louisville is capable of scoring points. Even when getting their brains beat out, they can still put up 20+ points.
Due to our anemic offense, I would take Louisville, and the points. I think the score will be close, but UK wins, much like Middle Tennessee.
When you are one dimensional, you make it easy for the other teams to stop you. As bad as Louisville is, a team full of players that quit, (half asking for transfer papers), we may still struggle to score.
I hope this team remembers the absolute beat downs we have taken from Louisville over the last several years, and returns the favor. Unfortunately, our offense, currently is just not playing well enough to expect such a result, heading into the bowl season.
Eddie Gran, prove me wrong. Please!

That might be the lowest spread UofL has faced all year lol. Vegas sees our offense.

Maybe Eddie will scrap the T-formation and replace it with student body right. Right now Louisville has nothing to lose. We do. Being 9-3 is a lot better than 8-4. Considering that we really should be 9-2. But to the professional play calling of grandpa Eddie, we’re not. So a lot is riding on this game. Crank up the lantern Eddie.

This is crazy!!!! UK will not win by more than 10 points against almost any FBS school right know. Why you ask!!!!! Because Gran can’t call a decent play to save his life, our QB can’t read a defense, and our defense is so worn out from carrying this team all year they could fall over. Stoops you have done such a wonderful job recruiting and building this team to this point. Please take us to the next level and get us an OC that knows what he is doing and a SEC level QB.
