Kentucky may not be in EA Sports’ new college football game

We have some absolutely Earth shattering news from the world of video gaming.

The website StickSkills.com, which appears legit to this first-time StickSkills.com visitor, is reporting nine teams are currently set to be left off the new EA Sports college football video game and one of them is your University of Kentucky Wildcats.

The story says the new EA Sports College Football came to a multi-year agreement with the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) to use the logos, stadiums, uniforms and traditions of almost every team in college football. There are nine, however, that are not among the CLC’s institutions and Kentucky is one of them.

The other eight are Air Force, Army, Georgia State, Navy, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Troy and USC.

Making a college football game without USC, Notre Dame and a member of the SEC seems like an odd decision.

Notre Dame is out, USC will likely work something out to get in. Kentucky should make it a priority to do the same.

Drew I’d wager both notre dame and Uk will be on the game.

They’ll be in it. Every school will be. Because there isn’t a positive way to spin them not being in the game. They’ll come up with something.

So the last time they made one our player stats sucked, our recruiting sucked, our stadium supposedly sucked, Stoops had just been hired and wasn’t even the coach, and they had us a 2 star.

9 years later we should be upper middle SEC East, have some bowl games under our belt, have good players everywhere but QB/WR/K(and those should be better by the time the game gets developed), our recruiting should be on par with most decently good P5 teams, our facilities are one of the best in the country, and we should have a decent staff………yeah that Wildcat football for you.

Here is why Notre Dame is out for now. This from the Chicago Sun-Times:

“A tip of the helmet to Notre Dame for deciding it won’t provide its name, logos and other branding property to EA Sports for the company’s hugely popular college football video game until, according to a statement from athletic director Jack Swarbrick, “rules have been finalized governing the participation of our student-athletes.”

“As those rules are developed,” the statement continued, “it is our strong desire that student-athletes be allowed to benefit directly from allowing their name, image and performance history to be used in the game.”

Drew, is this due to the JMI stuff or is this on Mitch Barnhardt?

“The JMI stuff” otherwise known as UK controlling its own brand instead of MJ? Perhaps CLC doesn’t represent UK (or USC or ND) and this article merely reflects that CLC has reached an agreement with EA for a product to be released in 2022. Perhaps Drew is just posting more OMG stuff to create chatter.

I would guess that the evil MB will have UK in EA before it’s all said and done in order to generate more revenue . . . to make the football stadium, locker rooms, weight rooms, baseball stadium, soccer stadium, Rupp arena, etc. etc. nicer, for fans and to attract top level athletes, so the program can continue to produce winning teams . . . just a guess.
