Kentucky makes Phil Steele’s College Football Top 25

Phil Steele’s College Football Preview is considered the sport’s bible by diehard fans, and this year, the Kentucky Wildcats made an appearance in the preseason rankings. The Cats are No. 21 in Steele’s preseason Top 25, one of eight SEC teams on the list.

ICYMI last week, Steele named nine Wildcats Preseason All-SEC:

  • Drake Jackson, First Team Center
  • Darian Kinnard, First Team Offensive Tackle
  • Max Duffy, First Team Punter
  • Landon Young, Second Team Offensive Tackle
  • Quinton Bohanna, Second Team Defensive Lineman
  • Boogie Watson, Second Team Linebacker
  • Josh Ali, Fourth Team Wide Receiver
  • Josh Paschal, Fourth Team Defensive Line
  • Kelvin Joseph, Fourth Team Defensive Back

Duffy was also named First Team All-American punter and Kinnard Fourth Team All-American. Due to coronavirus complications, the Phil Steele College Football Preview will only be available online or at two stores beginning July 24: Books-a-Million and Barnes and Noble.       Yes, it is more love, but one thing that im kindve puzzled about, is even though we beat V. Tech with an abbreviated team, and also bring back all injured players who were starters before injury, along with most of last seasons production, they are still ranked ahead of us on his preseason list?!??.. I guess if thats how he feels….

      VTech is bringing back 100% of their starters. It’s the safe choice as we lost 75% of our offensive production.

    VT brings back nearly their starting entire team if I recall correctly from the Best CATS Bowl 🙂
    I’m more disgusted that puke orange is ahead of us.

      Maybe that’s because they’ve owned us. For me, beating Tennessee is at the top of the list this year.
