Kentucky is now projected for the Liberty Bowl

Auto_Zone_Liberty_Bowl_logoAfter winning last night, Kentucky’s chance of going to a bowl game increased substantially. As of this morning, Jason Kirk of SB Nation is now projecting Kentucky to go to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, on Jan. 2.

So here’s to at least beating EKU, Vandy and Charlotte and giving a run at the rest!

I’ll take any bowl and going to Memphis again would be cool. CBS has UK going to the Texas Bowl today but I think that game would surely go to an SEC west team. Go Cats

Even Jerry Palm (CBS) is coming around, has us going to Houston to play OK State in the Texas Bowl. Not too shabby …

As we continue to build wins and momentum – it would be a good post to have someone from KSR break down the bowl selection hierarchy. I know there has been alot of shuffle as the Peach and Cotton have bumped up into the rotation for the national semifinal games.

Some new sponsors also make old bowls like the Gator Bowl now the “Tax Slayer”?

Regardless – because many of the tie ins are for the SEC 3-8 team, it would be interesting to hear what bowl has first pick, then second, and so on…Seems like the Music City, Belk, Outback, and Liberty can all take SEC 3-8 teams. What is the factor that determines who picks?

Anyone know these answers? Is it on rotation too?

As long as we go to the “Better than Louisville’s” Bowl, I am happy.

How long has it been since UK went to a bowl not in Tn. We were at the Outback Bowl in Fl with Tim Couch.
