Kentucky Is Even With Florida (At Least According to the Stat Sheet)

Was he barking at Raymond Sanders too?

When you haven’t beaten a team since Ronald Reagan was strolling around the White House, you look for any glimmer of hope that you can find when heading into the game. Fortunately, I believe I have found just that. After copious research, I believe that Kentucky statistically has as good a chance of winning this game as the Gators do. So down below are the current stats for both teams as they relate to the rest of the 14 total SEC teams:

(Stats once again taken from SaturdayDownSouth.com)

So what does this article prove? Well for one it shows that Kentucky and Florida are toe-to-toe on the stat sheet (relatively speaking), which might play to our advantage on Saturday night. Yes, it is true that stats don’t really amount to a whole lot when it comes time to strap up and take the field. But at least now, we have a little more evidence that an upset of the 20th ranked Gators is possible come Saturday night at Commonwealth.

(Disclaimer: Yes, I also realize that the stats are not necessarily accurate considering UK just had a bye week, and Florida has played a tougher schedule than us so far. But for now let’s just run with it for the article’s sake, OK?)
