Kentucky drops two spots in SEC Power Rankings

Kentucky dropped two spots in ESPN’s SEC Power Rankings this week, falling from ninth to eleventh after last night’s loss to Florida. The Cats entered the game at No. 9 in the rankings, one spot ahead of the Gators.

Arkansas, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are the three teams below Kentucky through three weeks of action. They are the only three teams in the conference with a losing record.

Here is what ESPN had to say about UK:

11. Kentucky Wildcats (2-1): The loss to Florida was a heartbreaker. Many in Lexington believed this would be the year they broke the losing streak to Florida, but it wasn’t to be. That said, this is a competitive team in the SEC East. After beating South Carolina and having a chance to beat Florida, Kentucky has a compelling game against Mizzou next week. Despite the loss, Mark Stoops’ troops continue to show progress.

Mizzouri is ranked one spot ahead of Kentucky at No. 10. The Tigers are up next on the Cats’ schedule.

I certainly hope that spelling of Missouri was on purpose….

Whatever system they use to determine this is the wrong system. Though 3 games, UK’s offense is dead last in the SEC.
I guess the power ranking puts more emphasis on our bending, but not breaking, 70th ranked defense, 11th in the SEC.
I am curious, why are we so bad, in a watered down SEC?

4 wins, max, if things do not change.

We lost to Florida by 4 and now we won’t even beat Vandy or 0-3 Louisville? Good lord some people are insane. People like you are the reason they put warning labels on shampoo.

TDog, if anyone needs a warning label it is you with your Kool Aid you are drinking. I am simply pointing out statistics posted by the NCAA. If you knew anything about college football, which obviously you have no clue, you would know UK has amassed these dismal stats against sub par competition thus far, through 3 games.
So it is clear, people like you, who do not know anything about to what they comment, are the true and proven idiots.
Our offense has kept every team we play in the game, which has an adverse effect on the defense. You will not win games in the SEC like that, you will not beat duhville playing like this.
Do not use the family computer without asking your mother. You embarrass your family when you do. When you turn 12, you will understand.

It seems to me as you are too worried about insults and using early season stats instead of actually using logic to prove your point. We are three weeks into the season. Some teams have still not played any decent teams (example: Mizzou) which leads to their stats being deflated. Kentucky statistical rankings are poor, but even with how bad they are we have been in every game until the end. Yet you think we are losing to Vandy? You also never explained to me how we lose to Vandy, or Louisville. We just played the best defensive line in the nation and the best defensive back in the nation, and we were in the game until the final seconds. Louisville, Mizzou, and Vandy all have good defenses, but they aren’t close to Florida’s level. All three of those teams have no offense either. You are too worried about looking at the negative side of things, instead of what has actually taken place.

      TDog, you mad bro?
Early season stats are all we have to measure where we are right now. If you read my entire post, which obviously, you, for whatever reason, did not do, you would have known I said “if things did not change”.
I laugh at your claim Florida has the best D line in college football. East Carolina did not think so. So what if Hargraves was back. We play in the SEC, we are always going to have a team that has a player that is the best at their position. We still gotta play them and with this offense, the way it is performing right now, we got no chance.
So TDog, you opportunity for casual discourse regarding my original post ended with your negative comments on your reply. Bring your A game with me or you will continue to look foolish.
      It is past your bedtime.

Its apparent that we have some of the worst fans in the nation….

      Maybe Clay Travis was right…?

We were 13th or 14th under The Joke so Stoops has things going in the right direction

That was 13th or 14th with other teams being much better then than now (e.g. Vandy). I don’t think the program has moved forward one bit under Stoops, except for fan enthusiasm.

How do you think this loss affects the recruits we had in the stands?

If you can’t beat a bad Florida team, then I know you can’t beat a bad Missouri team. It’s Kentucky football and I’m a fan. It sucks to hear so much hype and then see the on field performance. Well they are 2-1 and there is alot of football left you say, really? This team is a couple of plays away from being 0-3. New staff, new players, new stadium, same results.

5 wins max this year without a quarterback change…if Barker can even play. who the hell knows , our coaches wont let him in the game. Might ruin Patty Ices confidence. Cause that’s all he really needs a little confidence. Oh! and a little Breck, too.

Has Stoops even recruited any other quarterbacks? ‘Cause if Barker can’t beat out Towles as bad as Towles is, we’re looking at at least three more years of bad QB play.
