Kentucky comes in at No. 13 in the AP Poll

No, this is not a drill. The Kentucky Wildcats jumped all the way up to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll, moving up four spots from last week.

Don’t believe me? Here it is in all its glory:

At No. 13, Kentucky is the fifth-highest ranked team in the SEC, with only Alabama (1), Georgia (2), LSU (5), and Auburn (8) listed higher.

Florida also jumped back into the polls, coming in at No. 22 overall, making Kentucky’s victory over the Gators in week two look even more impressive.

This is their highest ranking in the AP Poll since Oct. 14, 2007, when the Cats came in at No. 8 in the nation.

LSU is above us and still in SEC.

That’s why they were mentioned at number 5 in this article!

They have a habit of writing error filled articles, then editing them without indicating so. I’ve cut and pasted directly from the article on several occasions, only to have people like you telling me I’m wrong about what the article says.

Come on KSR please proof read before you post. That has to be a typo UK in top 20. Lol

You forgot LSU. 5 teams ranked higher. But not for long.

5th highest. LSU is above us.

Haven’t we already seen what this UK team is made of? Two wins against top 25 teams and have won every game by double digits. Defense has been shutting teams down. This is a big road game that will be a challenge but this team is legit

Bigblue7982, I agree, I’ll drink a gallon of the cool aid if they come away with a win at A&M. If that happens then the only team left,in my opinion, that I’m not so sure we win against is of course Georgia. Not saying it can’t happen I mean I do remember the LSU game in 07, and its at uk. Nothing would surprise me at this point, just a little nervous about A&M.

Hate to say this but the AP poll doesn’t mean anything. Everything is based off of the coaches poll. Just saying

Well 15 in coaches poll isn’t bad, just sayin

I agree all I’m saying is the AP poll is irrelevant. When it comes to bowls or even college football playoffs the Coaches poll is what is looked at. So excuse my French bobby

None of these polls matter and often make no sense. College Football playoff poll is out in a few weeks and while it still is basically opinions it is the one that matters. I don’t worry about polls and titles as college football continues to put teams in title games that do not even play in their Conf title game. OSU did it earlier and Bama last year, it does matter as maybe if Bama is in SEC title game they lose, same with OSU a few years back. This goes way back to NCAA having Nebraska play for a title when they did not win their conf. Is all about money with NCAA, we know that. I just enjoy watching the games but there is no champion in D1 college football. How come EVERY level of football has a true playoff but the D1 level does not, MONEY from the stupid Bowl games. Just proving more are the 5-7 teams that get to go Bowling, really? Just enjoy the games, enjoy our success and enjoy the job Stoops and staff have done. Future is good folks, we have lots of young players to keep us in good shape going forward.

Can’t y’all just be excited? Who are we as Kentucky football fans to start the “only poll that matters is the one at the end of the year talk”?

Y’all might not agree (oh well, right?), but I think some of the players need to dial it back just a bit. There’s no need to look directly into the camera after each time you do something. It was cute and funny the first week; I found it a little bit arrogant and annoying.

As long as they keep “doing something” I say they can look wherever they want. This is football, not golf.

Its been a blast watching this team so far. Ive never seen a UK team with a defense like this. We have a huge matchup this coming weekend but even after A&M, playing Vandy and going to Mizzou could be really tough games. I think the next three weeks are going to be the most important for this football team, lets hope they’re ready.

Shame that there are haters in the BBN. Haters say “we haven’t been ranked in years”, when we have struggled. Now that we are ranked “polls don’t mean anything.” Well, they do mean something for the coaches, players and fans. This is why schools play football in the SEC. if you win the games mean something. Why, most schools have athletes, some more than others. The game will be tough, but that is why our recruits come here to play, that is to play against the best talent. Gives them an opportunity to showcase their talent for NFL. All we can hope for is that our players are ready and play to their potential. Let’s see……Benny was a three star maybe a four by one service. Josh was a two star. Look where they are now. If you hate so much just shut up and wait for basketball season, it starts in two week. Go to Rupp and pay hard earned money to a scalper to watch a glorified practice in a couple weeks. It will make you fell better.

Let’s see. When we have struggled people (haters) complain, we always play an SEC ranked team and we are not good enough to be ranked.” Now we are ranked and those same people say “polls don’t matter.” Those same people get bent all out of shape when another team on campus gets shafted by the polls, so they think. Well, polls do matter to the players, coaches, fans, and recruits. We are having an excellent year. Several years of good recruiting is paying off. Yeah, this game with A&M will be difficult, BECAUSE IT IS AN SEC GAME, AND ON THE ROAD. That is why this conference is called the SEC. This is why recruits come here, to play in that environment, and showcase their talents to NFL scouts. All SEC teams have athletes, some more, or a lot more than others. Let’s see, the basketball program has to have at least 8 elite players and athletes. That is the rotation our coach feels comfortable with most of the time. Let’s see, how many elite athletes does football need. At least 46. Two deep at all positions, plus a top punter and place kicker. Let’s look at the FB staff here. Benny, a three star RB has garnered quite a bit of attention and look at a certain defensive player number 41, he was a two star and could be a first round draft pick. Looks like they are being coached up, not to mention our O line. We are having a rare year in UK football. If you can’t stand it and want to hate and bring negativity to our team why don’t you wait about two weeks and go down to Rupp, pay some of that hard earned money to a scalper to watch a glorified scrimmage. By the way, those tickets were free in the first place. I know you probably won’t pay for a football ticket.

Love the recognition but it’s still UK vs. the World. We will continue to be underdogs even when we climb the polls. Get another big road win and you will see the media hop all over the UK hype train. Let’s go CATS!!!
