Earlier this week, Kentucky Football released a clip of ‘For the Commonwealth,’ a video featuring Kash Daniel, Drake Jackson, and Landon Young, three highly-rated recruits in the 2016 class that turned down college football’s biggest programs to stay home and represent their state. The entire video just hit YouTube, and it’s just as great as you imagined.

During the 35-minute conversation, Kash, Drake, and Landon reflect on their friendship and what it’s meant to play for their home state the past three seasons. They also talk about the family atmosphere under Mark Stoops, which has led to their teammates from Ohio and other states calling Kentucky home; their favorite memories so far as Wildcats; and how John Schlarman and Josh Paschal’s battles with cancer inspire them to be better. You might want to get the tissues for that part.

On Tuesday, Kash tweeted that the video is his favorite thing he’s done media wise since coming to Lexington, and you can see why. The pride in their voices is something we all feel every day.

Just three Kentucky kids sitting around talking about why they love UK Football. Awesome.

This is awesome guys. It’s why having a couple Ky kids every year is very important to the future of this program. I know Louisville is in Kentucky, but doesn’t it seem like it’s its own little state or whatever. Lol. It kinda does to me. Now I love to have those Louisville kids and hope we continue to recruit the very best from that area.

, I’m talking about kids like these three also. It’s really why I wanted the receiver that signed with Harvard from pike county I believe. I mean he showed out this summer in camps and ran the fastest times of almost everyone in the country. I’m Not saying that he was better than some we’ll have coming in, but he was close and definitely good enough to develop into a high major player.

Anyway, it’s more for the connection and being a hometown hero type thing. Lol. I 100% trust in my Coaching Staff though, and maybe we’ll get us a big time guy from that area in a year or two. It’s just amazing how much better we’ve become in the last few years because that kid would’ve fought for a starting job five years ago. Lmao. Coach Stoops for President!! Haha. I’m soooo ready for Saturday I can’t stand it. Hahaha. Go Cats!!!
