A little more than four years ago, Garrett Johnson committed to Kentucky. A three-star wide receiver, Juice grew up just 100 miles south of Gainesville in Winter Garden, Florida. Florida head coach Will Muschamp never extended a scholarship offer. Every time the two take the same football field, Juice is a thorn in Muschamp’s side.
2014 vs. Florida
Johnson became “Juice” during his freshmen year homecoming at Florida. Explosive out of the slot, he could not be touched.
Juice finished the game with 6 receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
2015 vs. Auburn
Muschamp did not last another year in Gainesville. In 2015 he was hired by Guz Malzahn to repair Auburn’s broken defense. When Juice saw Muschamp on the Thursday night sidelines, he brought his best.
The Cats didn’t defeat Auburn, but Juice earned Muschamp’s respect. After catching 9 passes for 160 yards, Muschamp told Johnson after the game, “I screwed up.”

2016 vs. South Carolina
Even though he’s always brought his best, it took Johnson three years to finally beat Muschamp. In his first year as South Carolina’s head coach, Kentucky ground the Gamecocks to death behind 196 yards from Benny Snell and Boom Williams.
Juice was still able to catch a team-high 4 passes for 48 yards in the 17-10 win. Today it’s Juice’s turn to even the series with Muschamp.
